Mr. and Mrs. Russell Stone of rural Palmyra will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception hosted by their children and grandchildren from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2004, at Providence Baptist Church in Withers Mill.
Doris Elaine Johnson and Russell Edward Stone were united in marriage on July 10, 1954, at the First Christian Church of Monroe City.
The Rev. R.N. Simpson officiated.
Mrs. Stone is the daughter of the late James and Verda Johnson.
Mr. Stone is the son of the late Oscar and Marguerite Stone.
They are the parents of three children, Linda Bunten and husband, Robert, of Palmyra, Kathy Lee and husband, Sonny, of Philadelphia, and Lori Jackson and husband, Keith, of Hannibal.
They have seven grandchildren, Leslie and Jacob Bunten, Andy, Kristen and Josh Lee, and Nate and Eli Jackson; and two great-grandchildren, Katlyn and Cory Lee.
Mr. Stone is a semi-retired farmer and retired MoDOT supervisor.
Mrs. Stone is a homemaker.
They are enjoying their time together by traveling and attending their grandchildren's school and sporting events.
Friends and relatives are invited to the reception.
They request no gifts.
