Miss Melissa Layne McBride and Mr. Edward Coe Tredennick were united in marriage on Saturday, November 23, 2002 at eight o'clock in the evening at Second Baptist Church in Houston. The candlelight double ring ceremony was performed by Dr. H. Edwin Young, Rev. David Riggle, and Rev. Thomas Griffin. Scripture reading was done by Susannah Ince Baker. Music was provided by vocalists Sarah Elizabeth Welch and Lindsey Robinson Justice, organist Carol McCutchon, trumpeter Vaughan Pederson, and Encore Strings led by Alisa Pederson. A buffet dinner and dance followed at the Houston Country Club with music by "Night Magic." On the eve of the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents at the Houston Country Club.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Denneth McBride of Houston and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harlow Stewart Sanders of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Edward Tredennick of Austin, Texas.
Serving her sister as Matron of Honor was Mrs. Julie McBride Whitehurst of Houston. The bridesmaids were Miss Lindsay Margaret Barth of Charlotte, North Carolina, Miss Beth Suzanne Boatwright of Dallas, Texas, Mrs. Carrie Skelton Holcomb of Houston, Mrs. Katie Tredennick Kaufmann, sister of the groom of New Braunfels, Texas, Mrs. Amy Niven McMurtrey, cousin of the bride of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Miss Stefanie Marie Newton of Houston, and Mrs. Julie Zucker Tredennick, sister-in-law of the groom of Dallas, Texas.
Serving his brother as Best Man was Mr. Peter John Tredennick of Dallas, Texas. The groomsmen were Mr. Kris Allen Cooper, Mr. Charles Douglas Goodwin, and Mr. Matthew Edward Houston, all of Branson, Missouri, Mr. Mark Allen Kaufmann, brother-in-law of the groom, of New Braunfels, Texas, Mr. Robert Darin Merrill of Kansas City, Missouri, Mr. Robert Merrifield Reed III of Los Angeles, California, and Mr. Kevin Wayne Whitehurst, brother-in-law of the bride, of Houston.

Serving as the bride's flower girl was Miss Corrie Lynne Kaufmann, niece of the groom, of New Braunfels, Texas.
Serving the groom as ushers were Mr. Clayton Lee McDaniel and Mr. Tony Lee Visage, both of Houston.
Serving as the groom's ring bearers were Master Connor George Kaufmann, nephew of the groom, of New Braunfels, Texas, Master John Matthew Whitehurst and Master Connor Christian Whitehurst, nephews of the bride, both of Houston.
The bride is a graduate of Second Baptist High School, and a graduate of Baylor University in Waco, Texas, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration. She is a member of Pi-Beta-Phi Sorority and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts Degree in Psychology.
The groom is a graduate of Park Hill High School in Kansas City, Missouri and a graduate of Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and a Master of Arts Degree in Education. He is a member of SigmaChi Fraternity and is currently teaching high school English at The Kinkaid School.
Following a honeymoon in Santa Barbara and Carmel, California, the couple will reside in Houston.
