Miss Katie Bonine and Mr. John David Tuley, Jr. were united in marriage on Saturday, November 23, 2002 at 5:00 in the afternoon at the Onstead Family Ranch in Navasota, Texas. The double-ring ceremony was performed by Mr. Ronnie Norman. Scripture reading was given by Mr. Blair Gibson and prayer was led by Mr. Lamar Schrader. Ceremony music was provided by the Alisa Pederson String Quartet, and vocals by Randall Onstead, uncle of the bride. Following the ceremony, a dinner reception was held at the Ranch with music provided by The Franchise. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Raveneaux Country Club.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Preston Hill of Sugar Land, Texas and the late Mr. Earl Bonine. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Onstead of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Neva Oman of Kerrville, Texas, and Mrs. Barbara Hill, also of Houston.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Tuley of Spring, Texas. He is the grandson of Mrs. Eleanor Ross of Houston, Texas, and the late Mr. Wayne Ross. He is also the grandson of Mrs. Marguerite Tuley of Abilene, Texas, and the late Mr. Robert Tuley.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her stepfather, the bride selected a lavish princess style gown of white imperial silk satin designed by Eva Haynal Forsyth for Scaasi. The sleeveless gown featured a square neckline, and a bodice that was exquisitely embroidered with seed pearls, sequins, and clear and silver barrel beads in an intricate pattern. A waltz length, heart-shaped veil of diamond white illusion gracefully cascaded from the bride's headpiece, a tiara of freshwater pearls, rondeles and Austrian crystals. The bridal party wore formal floor length sheath-style gowns in a julep color designed by Jim Hjelm. The elegant dresses had an empire waist and pleated sleeves worn off the shoulder.
Serving her sister as Maid of Honor was Meggan Hill. Bridesmaids were Audrey Almond, Sara Bills, Tiffany Shanks Davidson, Jana Foster Justice, Kellise Lugar McLauren, Rozlynn Rinn, and Meredith Speck. The house party included Tamera Ewing, Crystal Carpenter Lagas, Erin Hood, Meghan McDonald and Gwin Estes Huey.
Derek Tuley served his brother as Best Man. Groomsmen included Brian Blauser, Matt Davidson, Blake Hughes, Matt Kergosien, Jeff Pate, Ben Stites and Shawn Weidemann. Ushers included brothers of the bride, Michael Bonine and Jarod Bonine, Tucker Fowler, Josh Howard, Zac Leslie and Scott Owen.
The bride is a graduate of Lamar Consolidated High School in Rosenberg, Texas, and Abilene Christian University, where she was a member of KO JO KAI Social Club. She is a middle school history teacher at Westbury Christian School. The groom graduated from Klein High School in Spring, Texas as well as Abilene Christian University. He is with Gallagher, Henley, Williams Insurance company.
Following a honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas, the couple will reside in Houston, Texas.
