Mr. Walker Eugene Dollahon

Miss Melissa Jo Hooks and Mr. Walker Eugene Dollahon were united in holy matrimony on Saturday, November 23, 2002, at First United Methodist Church in Houston. The Rev. Daniel Jones, Rev. Charles Thompson and Rev. Leo Schuster performed the communion ceremony. Scriptures were read by Shanna Finucane and David Stotts and music was provided by Michael Stuart, Paul Duffin, Maria Satterwhite and Natasha Womack. Dinner and dancing followed at Martell Hall. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Braeburn Country Club. On Friday, Dr. Wilma Pitts Griffin and Mrs. Martha Griffin Kolbe hosted a bridal luncheon at Ashland's in the Heights.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. Bernard Hooks and Ms. Frieda Pitts Hooks of Houston. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Pearl Bailey of Woodville. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Winston Dollahon. He is the grandson of Mrs. Ruth Martin Dollahon of Houston.

Mrs. Shelly Reper Slovak of Houston served as Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids included Mrs. Rosann Fernandez Tolle, Miss Laurel Christine Dollahon, Miss Shanna Kay Finucane, all of Houston, Mrs. Lisa Traylor Silvestri of Tulsa, and Miss Sandra Leigh Marlow of Prague, Czech Republic. The flower girls were Miss Caroline Elizabeth Kolbe and Miss Morgan Nicole Slovak. Members of the House party included Mrs. Laura McKeough Edwards, Miss Natasha Jean Womack, Miss Tracy Jo Snow, Mrs. Lisa Trammell Swank, and Miss Carol Kathleen Kahil, all of Houston.

Mr. Sean Patrick Dollahon, brother of the groom, served as Best Man. Groomsmen were Mr. David Jeffrey Stotts of Dallas and Mr. Brian Mason Satterwhite of Austin, with Master Devon Lee Dollahon as ringbearer. Ushers included Mr. Daniel Lee Dollahon, Mr. Paul Francis Duffin, Mr. Jason Paul Whiles, Mr. Joel Fletcher Bolton, of Houston, Mr. Taylor Reed Marshall of Ft. Worth, and Mr. John Charlton Wimberly of Philadelphia.

The bride received a BA from the University of Texas and teaches second grade at Wesley Academy. The groom received his BBA and MBA from Texas A&M University in College Station. He is employed by Hewlett Packard.

Following a honeymoon to the island of St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Houston.
