Miss Caroline Day King and Mr. Peter Heyn Billipp were united in marriage on Saturday, October 5, 2002, at half after seven in the evening at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. Dr. Boyd Eugene Wagner performed the double ring ceremony. Music was provided by Accent Chamber Music, Rob Landes, organist, and John Weinel, vocalist. Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a reception at the Houston Country Club with music provided by Sha'on & Success from New Orleans. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner in the Manor House of the Houstonian.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Louis Allison, III of Houston and Mr. Kenneth Day King of Ft. Worth. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. William Thomas Waits and the late Mr. William Thomas Waits of Dallas and Ms. Madelyn Day King of Houston and the late Mr. Charles Guy King, Jr.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Andrew Billipp of Houston. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William Carveth Heyn of Lancaster, Pennsylvania and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Karl Billipp of Peterborough, New Hampshire.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore an elegant strapless gown by Vera Wang. Made of ivory silk radzmere, it featured a draped bodice and slightly dropped waist. The full A-line skirt which was accented by inverted side pleats flowed into a chapel train. Small square covered buttons and a knotted fringed bow adorned the back. The bride selected a two tiered illusion silk veil and carried a bouquet of blush tone mini calla lillies in a silk satin cuff with pearl buttons.
Serving as matrons of honor were Laura Jones Vogel of San Francisco, California, and Holly Barrett Stewart of Houston. Bridesmaids were sisters of the groom, Sarah Sanderson Billipp of Cambridge, Massachusetts; Anne McIntosh Billipp and Elizabeth Clark Billipp of New York, New York; Susannah Caroline Clemmons of Shreveport, Louisiana; Erika Layne Holberg of New York, New York; Danielle Soriero Sealy, Shannon Hope Schulgen, and Brooke Carolyn Simeon of Dallas. Houseparty members were Stirling Elizabeth Craig and Elizabeth Ann King, cousin of the bride, both of Houston.
Best men were Jonathan Andrew Billipp, father of the groom, and Cliff Haralson Condrey of Dallas. Groomsmen were Thomas Clayton Allison, brother of the bride of Houston; Blair Michael Black of Dallas; Jeffrey Michael Carron of Ft. Myers, Florida; Ryan Cheney Lynch of Dallas; James Robert Miller of Houston; Joel Greer Pittman, cousin of the bride of Irving; Mark Tinsley Prescott of Houston; and Michael Bush Wisenbaker of Dallas. Ushers included Sands Schraft Chipman and Eugene David Werlin of Houston.
The bride is a graduate of Episcopal High School in Houston, Texas. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Communications and Public Affairs from Southern Methodist University where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She is currently employed as communications director of Cole and Co. in Dallas.
The groom graduated from Memorial High School in Houston and attended the University of Texas in Austin where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in finance from Southern Methodist University and is currently employed at Cushman Wakefield in their Financial Services Group.
Following their honeymoon, the couple will reside in Dallas, Texas.
