Miss Shelley Denise Thomas and Mr. Justin David Burrow were united in marriage on Saturday, September 28, 2002, at half past six o'clock in the evening at Eatwell Farm in Gonzales, Texas. The double ring ceremony was performed by Reverend Gerry Metzger, with music performed by the Joseph Harchanko String Quartet. A reception followed the ceremony, with music by Grady Gaines and the Texas Upsetters. On Friday, a bridal luncheon was held at the Belle Oaks Bed and Breakfast in Gonzales, hosted by Ms. Cheryle Thomas Green, Mrs. Lacey Green Bowen and Miss Natalie Elizabeth Green. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the historical Shiner Restaurant and Bar, in Shiner, Texas, with music provided by Stageline.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Joseph Thomas of Houston, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Eileen Ethel Burch of Houston, Texas, and the late Mr. Kenneth Ralph Burch; and Mr. William Edward Thomas, Sr. of Houston, Texas, and the late Mrs. Dorothy Lee Thomas.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Hutchison Burrow of Gonzales, Texas, and Mrs. DeLoyce Avonne Burrow of Houston, Texas. He is the grandson of Mrs. DeLoyce Elizabeth Montgomery of Houston, Texas, and the late Mr. Judson Garland Montgomery, and the late Mr. and Mrs. David Hiram Burrow.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride selected a strapless gown designed by Vera Wang of New York.
The bride was attended by Matron of Honor, Mrs. Tricia Tottenham Bragg of Austin, Texas; and Maids of Honor, Miss Jennifer Dawn Thomas and Miss Sara Dyan Thomas of Houston, Texas, sisters of the bride. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Deborah Anne Dillion of Austin, Texas; Mrs. Lindsay Gaylord Folk of Boulder, Colorado; and Miss Kristen Elaine Webster of Houston, Texas. Miss Meredith Marie Burrow served as flower girl. House party members included Mrs. Lacey Bowen of Austin, Texas; Miss Natalie Green of New York, New York; Miss Dana Lauren Thomas of The Woodlands, Texas; and Miss Ashley Nicole Allison of Houston, Texas; cousins of the bride.
Mr. Brad Hutchison Burrow of Houston, Texas, served his brother as Best Man. Groomsmen were Mr. Robert Tobias Sakowitz, Jr., of Dublin, California; Mr. William Carlos Morris, IV of Salado, Texas; Mr. Jason Bradley Long of Houston, Texas; Mr. Matthew Dale Eckerman of Houston, Texas; and Mr. John Warren Franklin of Houston, Texas. Shelley is a graduate of Klein Oak High School in Spring, Texas. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Texas at Austin, and is a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She is employed by Senator John Whitmire.
Justin is a graduate of Lamar High School in Houston, Texas. He received his Bachelor of Science from The University of Texas at Austin, and is a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas, and is employed by Hays, McConn, Rice & Pickering.
Following a honeymoon, the couple will reside in Houston, Texas.
