Hoss - Schiller
Miss Kristi Kay Hoss
Weds
Mr. John Daniel Schiller, Jr.
Kristi Kay Hoss and John Daniel Schiller, Jr. were united in holy matrimony on Saturday, August 31, 2002 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The double ring ceremony was officiated by Reverend Wes McPherson at three o'clock in the afternoon at the Bellagio Hotel South Chapel.
The enchanting La Verde string quartet accompanied operatic soloist and one of the couple's closest friends, Ms. Celia Hickenbotam as she served a poignantly moving performance of "Amazing Grace" to guests.
Immediately following the ceremony, family and friends transcended to a champagne reception afterward in the Monet Grand Ballroom overlooking the botanical gardens.
The orchestra performed the triumphant "Aggie War Hymn" for the couple's recessional introducing them as husband and wife. Guests were entertained by the sounds of the Doug Roll.
The bride and groom shared a touching moment as they danced their first dance to the Nat King Cole ballad, "Unforgettable."
On the evening prior to the ceremony, a dinner honoring the bride and groom was hosted by friends, Nicholas and Becky Binion Behnen at their Landmark casino, Binion's Horseshoe. Guests were often reminiscent of a nostalgic ambiance created of long-forgotten Las Vegas, while overlooking the picturesque panoramic skyline of the illuminated city from the 24th Floor Penthouse.
Given in marriage by her family, the bride walked down escorted by her brother, as the orchestra performed the score, "Dynasty." The bride chose an original creation by Giorgio Armani. The flowing soft pearl white Italian silk Grecian inspired couture gown draped to the floor in a cut on the bias, tapering an outline of her silhouette. The halter neckline was set off with an ever-so-slightly embellished deep V-neckline, which highlighted the rich sweeping detail. The posterior of the gown echoed the initial elegant impression as it was gathered to a high pitch cascade at the nape of neck, trailing with an accenting scarf of graceful silk illusion that also served as her train. A double Gardenia in her low swept chignon hairstyle completed the vision. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of various shades of white roses. The bride wore a platinum emerald and diamond bracelet given to her by her Mother. She also carried an antique lace handkerchief and sixpence in her shoe borrowed from her girlfriend Mrs. Al (Stephanie) Walker of Houston.
Miss Hailey Amanda Schiller served as Maid of Honor. She wore a light golden bisque silk shantung floor length, dropped waist gown with a hand tucked, square neckline complemented by a pleated box train by Vera Wang of New York.
Serving his Father as best man was John Daniel Schiller, III. The bridesmaids wore silk shantung A-line floor length gowns with a square neck bodice accented with cascading trains in a slight sunset blush hue designed by Vera Wang of New York. All the attendants carried hand tied bouquets of various shades of ivory and cream hued oceana roses, hydrangenias and stephanotis.
Bridesmaids included, Miss Anne-Elizabeth Brown and Miss Katherine Aplin of Lake Jackson; Miss Susan Shepherd and Miss Nicole Shepherd of Plano; Miss Stephanie Styles, of Houston. Master Walker Lay escorted his sister, flower girl, Miss Harper Lay of Dallas.
Ushers were Mr. John R. Hoss, brother of the bride. Mr. Mark Schiller, brother of the groom and Mr. Tim Smith, Godfather to the best man.
Hostesses included Mrs. Michael (Joanna) Rose and Mrs. Scott (Lisa) Dunwoody both of Houston. Miss Madelon Madeley of Houston orchestrated her magic to elevate the wedding weekend, with the never-ending guidance of Richard Flowers and Associates.
