Miss Amy Elizabeth Hickox and Mr. John Marvin White were united in marriage on Saturday, January 26, 2002 at six o'clock in the evening at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in San Antonio, Texas. The double ring ceremony was officiated by Reverend David A. Luckenbach, and music for the ceremony was provided by organist Donald W. Duncan. Scripture readings were given by Mr. Roger Andrew McMahan, cousin of the bride, and Mrs. Maria Poindexter, the groom's aunt. A reception hosted by the bride's parents followed at the San Antonio Country Club with music by the Atlantics. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at La Margarita. A bridesmaid luncheon was hosted at Manduca the day before the wedding by the bride's aunts, Mrs. Amy Permenter McMahan, Mrs. Walterine Permenter Odom, and Mrs. Frances Permenter Smith, all of Jackson, Mississippi.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Horace Hickox, III of Tomball, Texas. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Newton Permenter, Jr., of Gulfport, Mississippi, and Mr. and Mrs. William Horace Hickox of Amarillo, Texas. The groom is the son of The Honorable and Mrs. Bill Marvin White of San Antonio, Texas. He is the grandson of the late Cavagliere and Mrs. Giovanni D'Ambrosio of Meduno, Italy and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Marvin White of McKinney, Texas.
Miss Windy Carley Ward of Oxford, Mississippi served as Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids included sisterinlaw of the bride, Mrs. Mary Johnson Hickox of Addison, Texas; Miss Tracey Craig Kinzer of Austin, Texas; Miss Debbie Kyungae Lee of Houston, Texas; Miss Marla Ann Massin of Austin, Texas; Miss Jill Christine Smith of Houston, Texas; Ms. Adrianna White, sister of the groom, of San Antonio, Texas; and Miss Jennifer Dawn White of Olive Branch, Mississippi. Members of the house party also included Miss Suzanna Leslie McMahan, cousin of the bride, of Jackson, Mississippi. Serving as the groom's best man was Mr. David Hunter Shefte of East Aurora, New York. Groomsmen were Mr. Jed Curtis Crump of Dallas, Texas; Mr. Kurt Peter Heckel of Golden, Colorado; Mr. William Horace Hickox, IV, brother of the bride, of Addison, Texas; Mr. Bradley James Little of Houston, Texas; Mr. Andrew Michael Miller of Houston, Texas; Mr. Mark Anthony Szygenda of Plugerville, Texas; and Mr. Juan Jose Zamora, Jr. of San Antonio, Texas. Ushers included Cody Wayne Adams of Carrollton, Texas and Tristan Andrew Walker of Boerne, Texas.
The bride is a graduate of Sharpstown High School and the University of Mississippi where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She is currently a Sales Representative with Eli Lilly and Company Pharmaceuticals.
The groom is a graduate of Texas Military Institute and Trinty University where he received a Bachelor of Science in International Business and was a member of the Bengal Lancers Fraternity. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston Law Center and is now an Assistant District Attorney for Bexar County.
Following a honeymoon to Europe, the couple will reside in San Antonio, Texas.
