Miss Lisa Leishman and Mr. William Phillip Johnson III were united in marriage on Saturday, January 12, 2002 at four o'clock in the afternoon at Second Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. Reverend David Riggle performed the double ring ceremony with music provided by vocalist, Mr. Mark Nolan; organist, Ms. Carol McCutchon; trumpeter, Mr. Vaughan Pederson; and the Encore Strings. A seated dinner and dance followed at The Petroleum Club with music by "Kristopher". On the evn of the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents at Grappino di Nino Restaurant.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Pamela Pullin of Santa Barbara, California and Mr. Kim Homer Leishman of Wellsville, Utah and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Maughan Leishman of Wellsville, Utah and the late Mr. Hobart Maloney and the late Mrs. Evelyn McLean Young. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Phillip Johnson, Jr. of Houston, Texas and the grandson of Mr. Buckley Duane Harrison of Fulton, Mississippi and the late Mrs. Maxine Carroll Harrison and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Phillip Johnson, Sr. formerly of Van Vleck, Texas.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a diamond white gown of satin peau de soie by Ines Di Santo. The asymmetrical princess style gown featured a strapless bodice of iridescent sequins and crystals. A silver and white silk thread was embroidered throughout the bodice, into the skirt, and down the chapel length train. To compliment her gown she wore a three-tiered veil of silk illusion enhanced with crystals with one flowing to cathedral length. She carried a winter bouquet of white roses tied with French silk ribbon.
The bridesmaids wore two-piece platinum satin peau de soie gowns by Dessy. The halter-top featured a scoop neck and platinum beads with a floor length A-line skirt. They carried winter bouquets of pastel flowers.
Serving as the bride's Maid of Honor was her sister, Miss Kristen Leishman of San Antonio, Texas. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Stacey Crawford French of San Antonio, Texas; Miss Kimberly Tara Jackson and Mrs. Karla Schmidt Mason, both of Houston, Texas; Mrs. Karren Hancey Leishman, sisterin-law of the bride of Providence, Utah; Mrs. Jennifer Mulligan Morales of San Antonio, Texas; Miss Melinda Louise Read of Dallas, Texas; and Miss Heather Kristina Shelford of Seattle, Washington.
Serving as the groom's Best Man was his brother, Mr. Stephen Harrison Johnson of Dallas, Texas. The groomsmen were Mr. Alexander Shaler Allen IX, Dr. William Christian Pielop, and Mr. Lyndon Byron Way, all of Houston, Texas; Mr. Stacy Lane Barnett of Scottsdale, Arizona; Mr. Jeffrey Chapman Johns, Mr. Bryan Clark Lewis, and Mr. Craig Alan Werlin, all of Austin, Texas.
Guest book attendants were Miss Krystle Leishman and Miss Kari Leishman, sisters of the bride and both of Wellsville, Utah. Program attendants were Miss Jacqueline Melissa Cardenas of Corpus Christi, Texas and Mrs. Shellie Moore Lowden, cousin of the groom of Cleveland, Tennessee. Reader was Mrs. Kristi Lynn Barnett of Scottsdale, Arizona.
Serving as the groom's ushers were Mr. Aaron Lynn Condray of Houston, Texas; Mr. Nathan Scott Gregory of Washington, DC; Mr. Lance H. Leishman, brother of the bride of Waco, Texas; Mr. David Gregg Moore II, cousin of the groom of Amory, Mississippi; and Mr. Travis Clayton Barnes of Austin, Texas.
The bride is a 1994 graduate of John Marshall High School in San Antonio, Texas; a 1998 graduate of Baylor University in Waco, Texas with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science; and a year 2000 graduate of the University of Houston with a Master of Arts Degree in Public Administration. She is currently employed as a Senior Analyst with the Maricopa County Office of Management and Budget in Phoenix, Arizona.
The groom is a 1991 graduate of Second Baptist High School in Houston, Texas and a 1997 graduate of the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics. He is currently a sales manager with the David Wilson Automotive Group in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Following a honeymoon in the Hawaiian Islands, the couple will reside in Phoenix, Arizona.
