Miss Jessica Valerie Jones and Mr. Benjamin Maldonado both of Houston, were united in marriage Saturday, January 19, 2002 at Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Father John Long officiated at the double ring ceremony. The bride's father gave her in marriage. Scripture readings were given by Ana Hernandez and Melanie Rodriguez. Following the ceremony the bride's parents hosted a reception at the Nights of Columbus in Pearland, Texas. On the eve of the wedding, the bride and groom held the rehearsal dinner at Don Carlos Restaurant.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Jones III of Houston. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Armendina Jones of San Antonio, Texas and the late Mr. Sam Jones of Gonzales, Texas and Ms. Josephine Flores and Mr. Claudio Flores both of Houston.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Maldonado. He is the grandson of Mrs. Beatriz Vivar and the late Mr. Jorge Vivar and Agustin and Abigail Maldonado.
Maid of Honor was Miss Samantha R. Jones, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Miranda Garza, Jenny Garza, Elizabeth Maldonado, Raquel Flores, Daniela Espino and Sarah Tovar, all of Houston and Melissa Garza of San Antonio, Texas. The flower girl was Natasha Garza.
The Best man was Mr. Steve Martinez. Groomsmen were Rod Garza, Jason Garza, Jose Aguilera, Joe Salazar, Frank Ramirez, John Garcia and Roland Jones, all of Houston. The ringbearer was Ricky T. Flores. Nicholas Garza, cousin of the bride, served as usher.
The bride received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The University of Houston where she was a member of Kappa Delta Chi sorority. She is employed by Bank of America, where she is a Senior Operations Manager. The groom is employed by Fred Haas Toyota where he is a Parts Representative.
Following a honeymoon to Las Vegas, Nevada, the couple will reside in Spring, Texas.
