Mr. and Mrs. Marvin E. Smallwood of New London will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on July 11, 2004.

Mrs. Smallwood is the daughter of Rolla (Tony) Hendren and Frances L. David Hendren.
Mr. Smallwood is the son of William E. (Lonnie) Smallwood and Pearlie Belle Taylor Smallwood.
They are the parents of two children, Anthony (Tony) Smallwood of New London and James (Jim) Smallwood of Jacksonville, Fla.
They have nine grandchildren, Russell and Amy Cooper, and Kaysi, Anthony Jr., Christopher, Jacob, Alex, Kelsey and Emily Smallwood.
Mr. Smallwood is a retired ironworker after 21 years, and is currently employed with the Ralls County Highway Department.
Mrs. Smallwood is employed by Cerf's Bag Factory.
Mr. Smallwood served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960-1963 and enjoys hunting and fishing on the family farm.
Mrs. Smallwood enjoys crocheting towels and giving them as gifts.
