Miss Megan Anne Kloppenburg and Mr. Jason Michael Culpepper were united in marriage on Saturday, January 19, 2002 at seven o'clock in the evening at Kinsmen Lutheran Church in Houston, Texas. The Reverend James Hinkhouse officiated the candlelight double ring ceremony. Scripture readings were offered by Mrs. Jennifer Garrett, Mr. Barry West and Mr. Mickey Culpepper. Music for the ceremony was performed by Mr. Ed Bromstad, soloist, Mr. Michael Brozick, trumpeter, and Mrs. Linda Thomas, organist. A reception followed at Shirley Acres. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Northgate Country Club.
The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Kloppenburg of Spring. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Rose Marie Kloppenburg, Mr. Robert H. Kloppenburg, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hewitt Kelly of Hallettsville, Texas.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mickey Culpepper of Houston and Mrs. Gay Grosz of Shreveport, Louisiana. He is the grandson of Mrs. Bessie Culpepper of Calhourn, Louisiana, and Mrs. Idell Scott of Shreveport, Louisiana.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. Serving as Maids of Honor were Miss Elisa Blankenship of Spring and Miss Kiffin Collins of Dallas. Bridesmaids included Miss Kerri Knussmann of Spring, Miss Ashley Lange of Bellville, Ms. Ashley Lyons, sister of the groom, of Houston, Miss Sara Kloppenburg and Miss Emily Kloppenburg, sisters of the bride, of Spring. Miss Skylar Burns, cousin of the bride, and Avery Torres served as flower girls.
Members of the house party were Miss Katie Krenz, Miss Christy Van Dike, Miss Kelsey Muller, Miss Linden Muller, Miss Emily Creps and Miss Jordan Creps, all of Spring.
Mr. Clayton Flurry, brother of the groom, served as Best Man. Groomsmen were Mr. Shane Weaston of Katy, Mr. John Garrett of Round Rock, Mr. Luis Del Valle of Katy, Mr. David Morgan of Houston, and Mr. Kurt McCord of Lubbock. The ring bearer was Master Justus Burns, cousin of the bride, of Bulverde, Texas.
Ushers for the occasion were Mr. Austin Creps, Mr. Brad Lintz, and Mr. Bryan Talkington of Spring. Witnesses were Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Muller of Spring.
The bride is a graduate of Klein High School and Texas A&M University where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Finance and was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. She is currently employed by Duke Energy as a Risk Accountant.
The groom is a graduate of Jersey Village High School and Sam Houston State University where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Radio and Television and was a member of Theta Chi fraternity. He is employed by the Houston Chronicle as an Account Executive.
Following a honeymoon to Negril, Jamaica, Mr. and Mrs. Culpepper will reside in Houston, Texas.
