Kayla Marie Griffith and Christopher Mark Towle were united in marriage on Saturday, January 5, 2002 at seven o'clock in the evening at John Wesley United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. Organist and soloist Phil Hooper and soloist Carol Alvarez provided music at the double ring ceremony. A reception followed at the Houston Airport Marriott. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's family hosted a rehearsal dinner at the County Line. The grandmother of the bride, Ms. Mel Lowe, gave a Bridesmaid dinner at Champions Country Club on Thursday, January 3, 2002.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lessly Dean Griffith of Houston. She is the granddaughter of Ms. Mel Lowe, and the late K.E. Richardson, and the late E.E. Lowe, all of Houston; Ms. Edna Griffith and the late Mr. Dean Griffith of Conroe and the late Ms. Marjorie Gross of Houston. The groom is the son of Ms. Leta Towle of Houston and Mr. and Mrs. Philip Sheridan Towle III of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Chris is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Terry James Loughridge of Baytown, and Mr. Philip Sheridan Towle II and the late Mrs. Philip Sheridan Towle II of Knoxville, Tennessee.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown of champagne silk designed by Christos of New York.
Mrs. Gina Carson, sister of the bride, served as Matron of Honor. The bridesmaids were Miss Danielle Brewington and Miss Carla Christensen of Houston, and Miss Sara Froning of Rogers, Arkansas. The junior bridesmaid was Miss Paige Strother of Houston. The flowergirls were Miss Grace Merkel of Houston, and Miss Kyndall Womble of Keller.
Mr. Jeffrey Stenberg of Midlothian served as Best Man. The groomsmen were Mr. Derek Racca of Lubbock, Mr. David Roberts of Crosby, and Mr. Nathan Frazier of Victoria. The ringbearer was Master John Taylor Carroll of Houston.
House party members include Diane Brewington, Jessica Bryant, Cortney Clover, Beth Fisk, Brittany Hazen, Olivia Hazen, Joan Miers, Cheryl Przada, and Janet Strother. Ushers were Steven Bruce, Brann Carson, Greg Stenberg, and Lonnie Teal.
The bride is a graduate of Cypress Creek High School and Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies. She is a member of Alpha Phi Sorority. Kayla is employed as a Special Claims Representative with an Insurance carrier. The groom is a graduate of Cypress Fairbanks High School and Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and also his Masters in Electrical Engineering. Chris is employed by Texas Instruments as a Product Engineer and is pursuing his MBA.
Following a honeymoon to New Orleans, the couple will reside in Sugar Land.
