Miss Elizabeth Friedman and Mr. Michael Dale Walters were united in marriage on Sunday, November 11, 2001 at the Mariposa Ranch in Brenham, Texas. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Judge Eric Andell. The Next Step Band performed the music. On the evening before the wedding, a dinner was held at the Brazos Belle Inn in Burton, Texas.
The bride is the daughter of Barbara Robins Friedman and Ann and J. Kent Friedman. She is the granddaughter of Sylvia Robins and the late Herbert Robins of Houston and the late Rose and Earl B. Friedman of Biloxi, Mississippi. The groom is the son of Ellen and Rayburn Walters. He is the grandson of the late Christine and Charles Payne of Houston and the late Ernest Kitchens of Laurel, Mississippi. He is the grandson of the late Donnie and Orval Walters of Laurel, Mississippi.
Alison Friedman Belcher, of Houston, served her sister as the Matron of Honor. The Bridesmaids were Debra Lynn Heard and Michelle Gay Sager, sisters of the groom, Pamela Kay Walters, sister-in-law of the groom, Ashli Dyan Eriksen, cousin of the bride, all of Houston, and Michele Elizabeth Conlon, future sister-in-law of the bride from Austin. Kathryn Elizabeth Belcher, niece of the bride, served as the flowergirl. Readings were given by Julie Anne McClure, Sara Bird Robins, cousin of the bride, both of Houston and Kelly Eriksen Wright, cousin of the bride, from Atlanta, Georgia.
Rayburn Walters served his son as the Best Man. Groomsmen were Steven Eugene Walters, brother of the groom, Daniel Stephen Heard, brother-in-law of the groom, George Lewis Belcher, brother-in-law of the bride, all of Houston, Eric Brent Friedman of Austin, Texas, and Andrew Earl Friedman of New York City, brothers of the bride. Ryan William Friedman, brother of the bride, served as the ringbearer. Ushers were the bride's cousins, Kevin Scott Robins of Houston and Chad Michael Eriksen of Jackson, Mississippi.
The bride is a graduate of St. John's School in Houston and Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is currently working in the Communications field.
The groom is a graduate of Sam Houston Senior High School in Houston and attended the North Harris County College. He is currently working in the field of Geographic Information Systems.
Following a honeymoon to Paris, France, the couple will make their home in Kingwood, Texas.
