Marjorie Grace Mandel and Peter Marcus Strohmer were united in marriage on Saturday, October 20, 2001, at seven o'clock in the evening at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Houston. The Reverend Kevin Otto officiated the double ring ceremony. Organist Rob Landes accompanied Claire Frazier as she sang a solo and The Lord's Prayer. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Junior League with Doppelganger providing the entertainment. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Double Tree Post Oak.
The bride was escorted by her father and given away by her parents Jay and Susan Mandel of Port Neches, Texas. The groom is the son of Hans and Nancy Strohmer of Houston, Texas and Wendy Strohmer of Arlington, Texas.
Serving as Matron of Honor was Mrs. Stephanie Bonura McCaffity of Plano, Texas. Bridesmaids were Miss Shelley Alice Stopper of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Monica Smith Mandel of Katy, Texas, Miss Shanna Lynn Boudreaux of Houston, Texas, and Miss Meredith Suzanne Pierce of Houston, Texas.
Serving as Best Man was Mr. Michael Thomas Strohmer of Arlington, Texas. Groomsmen were Mr. Alan Thomas McGrew of Houston, Texas, Mr. Morton Mandel of Katy, Texas, Mr. Jamie Thacker of Fort Worth, Texas, and Mr. Darren Anthony Senior of The Woodlands.
Mariah Kendall Stopper served as honorary flower girl. Colton Jacob Mandel and Raymond Joseph Stopper II served as honorary ring bearers. The Bride's House Party was Mrs. Ginger Stopper of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Jill McGrew of Houston, Texas, and Miss Lachelle Villanueva of Arlington, Texas. Ushers were Mr. Jeremy Chalker of Dallas, Texas, Mr. Kevin Hammond of Arlington, Texas, Mr. Ray Stopper of Houston, Texas and Mr. Terry Brockett of Lewisville, Texas.
Marji is a graduate of Port Neches-Groves High School, Port Neches, Texas and earned a B.S. degree from Texas A&M University. She is employed by W.S. Bellows Construction Corporation as a Project Engineer. Peter is a graduate of Lamar High School, Arlington, Texas and earned a B.S. degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. He is employed by Group I Automotive as a Sales Manager.
The happy couple will be honeymooning in Jamaica and upon returning will reside in Houston, Texas.
