Miss Kimberly Paige Oakley and Mr. Alexander Stephen McElreath were united in marriage on Saturday, November 3, 2001, at one o'clock in the afternoon at Chapelwood United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. The double ring ceremony was officiated by Dr. James Jackson and by Father Christopher Billac. Music was provided by organist Thomas Jaber, and by vocalists Nancy Fauber-Hoh, Rita Bell and Susan Hall. The scripture readings were given by Mrs. Eva McElreath Woody, sister of the groom, and by Mrs. Julianne McMahon Salvagio. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Vargo's with music by the Dave Caseres Band. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a dinner honoring Kimberly and Alex at the H.E.S.S. Club. A bridal luncheon hosted by Mrs. Becky Broesche and Mrs. Donna Talbot was held at the Braeburn Country Club on Friday.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Collins Frank Oakley of Houston. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gene Bridges, formerly of Dallas, and of Mr. Gerald Collins Oakley and the late Mrs. Robbie Oakley of Houston. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve McElreath of Gainesville, and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Morris McElreath of Gainesville, and of Mrs. Rosario Sanches Garcia and the late Mr. Julio Lopez Gonzalez of Mallorca, Spain.
Kimberly's sisters, Miss Lindsey Alyson Oakley and Miss Stacey Collins Oakley, served as her Maids of Honor. Her bridesmaids included Miss Stephanie Ann McElreath, sister of the groom, of Gainesville, Miss Amanda Stacy Greenberg of Houston, Miss Susan Gordon and Mrs. Chrissie Aldridge Laird of Austin, and Miss Natalie Michelle Waugh and Mrs. Jennifer Lamb McPhaul of Dallas. Honor Attendants included Miss Alina Contreras, Mrs. Jennifer Harris Tiedt and Mrs. Holly Haase Korman of Houston, Mrs. Kara Davis Miller, Mrs. Erika Pederson Ching and Miss Brennan Barthelemy of Dallas, and Mrs. Kristin Nemetz Butler of Austin.
Mr. Billy Wayne Beckes and Mr. Christopher Charles Henderson, both of Denton, served as Alex's Best Men. His Groomsmen included Mr. William Shane Hunter of Gainesville, Mr. Michael Wayne Kincy of Plano, Mr. Noman Qureshi of Denton and Mr. Mark Ashley Helton, U.S. Army. Mr. Tye Stephen Woody, nephew of the groom, served as Junior Groomsman. The Ushers included Mr. Corbin Wade Broesche of Houston and Mr. Jeffrey Martin McPhaul and Mr. Wade Robert Wegner of Dallas.
Kimberly is a graduate of Texas Christian University where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Graphic Design and was a member of Delta Gamma sorority. She is employed as the Creative Director of UrbanRealtors.com. Alex is a graduate of the University of North Texas where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and is employed with Enron.
Following a honeymoon to the island of St. Lucia, Mr. and Mrs. Alexander McElreath will reside in Houston.
