Bledsoe - 50th
Mr. and Mrs. Leo Bledsoe, of Lee's Summit and formerly of Hannibal, observed their 50th wedding anniversary on July 17, 2004.
A reception was hosted for family and friends in Lee's Summit by their children and they will be celebrating by taking a New England/Nova Scotia cruise.
Anna Mae Beadle and Leo Bledsoe were united in marriage on July 17, 1954, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Hannibal.
The Rev. Harold Smelser officiated. Attendants were Alice Stewart, sister of the bride; and Don Bledsoe, brother of the bridegroom.
They are the parents of three children, one son, Dan Bledsoe and wife, Sharon, of Mount Prospect, Ill.; and two daughters, Lea Ann Pitcher and husband, Frank, and Jane Pritchett and husband, Randy, both of Lee's Summit.
They have two grandchildren, Kristen and Craig Pitcher.
Mr. Bledsoe retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Hannibal in November 1990, and they moved to Lee's Summit to be with their daughters and grandchildren.
They enjoy spending time with their grandchildren, fishing, gardening, traveling and working in their church.
