The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Russell James Johnston of Nacogdoches, Texas. For her wedding, Miss Johnston selected a gown of ivory silk satin and Venise lace, from the Priscilla of Boston Collection. Fashioned in a princess silhouette, the gown featured short sleeves and a V-neckline. The elegant A-line skirt fell to slipper length in the front and swept into a chapel train. Motifs of the lace, sprinkled with brilliant crystals, were appliquéd on the bodice, across the skirt, and over the train. A small bandeau, covered with the same lace and crystals, held her elbow-length veiling of silk illusion.
Her attendants were gowned alike in gowns of raspberry satin, designed by Watters and Watters. The ensembles featured open scoop necklines, fitted bodices, and graceful gored skirts.
The bride's sister, Katherine Lorraine Collins of Houston served as Matron of Honor, while her sister Patricia Ann Johnston of Nacogdoches was Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were Roslyn Annette Anderson, Heather Mary Mize, and Holli Elizabeth Sanderson all of Houston. The flower girl was Hannah Arlene Collins, daughter of the bride's sister Katherine.
The best man was Thomas John Fleure of Houston. Groomsmen were Hugh Lenox Hodge, John Norman Collins, brother-in-law of the bride, and Todd Michael Anderson, all of Houston, and Stephen James Johnston of Austin, Texas, brother of the bride. The ring-bearer was Nicholas James Johnston, son of the bride's sister Patricia.
