Mr. Patrick Galligan

Miss Lynda Katherine Rice and Mr. Patrick Joseph Galligan were united in holy matrimony at seven o'clock in the evening on Saturday, November 10, 2001 at St. Patrick Cathedral in Fort Worth, Texas. Monsignor Hubert Neu assisted by Dr. William F. Galbraith officiated the double ring candlelight ceremony. Ceremony music included organist, Mark Scott, trumpeter Keith Johnson, and soloist Lynda PostonSmith. Piper, Clarence Crain greeted the guests for the dinner reception at Shady Oaks Country Club. Cuvee provided dance music. The groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Balcony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Burnham Pierce Rice of Fort Worth. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Fred Rice of Richardson, Texas, Mrs. Lois Patterson of Fort Worth and the late R. Pat Patterson. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Joseph Galligan of Dallas. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John Galligan of Commack, NY and Mrs. Suzanne Donnelly of Dallas and the late William Donnelly.

The bride wore an Amsale gown of duchess silk satin. The full skirt fell from box pleats at the dropped waist and was trimmed with a wide band of imported, re-embroidered Alencon lace. Tiny covered buttons closed the back of the gown and continued down the Cathedral length train. Her Belgian lace mantilla extended the length of her train. The bride's pearls were her father's wedding gift to her mother and worn at their wedding 35 years ago. Katherine carried a family heirloom, a handkerchief of silk lace crocheted by her paternal great-grandmother, Fern Pierce.

Maid of honor was Patricia Anne Kaegi of New York, NY. Bridesmaids were, Melanie Emmons Vallo of Atlanta, Laura Griffis Messer and Amy Robinson Wolf of Austin, Kathryn Louise Brenno of Houston, Diana Kathleen Mahan of San Antonio, Alison Ruth Zampino of San Francisco, Colleen Patricia Birnstiel and Amy Lynn Selquist of New York. The House Party included Margaret Mary Galligan, Moira Elizabeth Galligan of Dallas, Katie Ruschman Galligan of Louisville, KY, all sisters of the groom, Tracey Dupre Rice of Houston, sister-in-law of the bride, and Christine Francis Marchini, Catherine Helen Mountford, and Katie Michelle Williams, all of New York.

Best man was Daniel John Galligan, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Manuel Barraz IV and Michael Casey O'Shea of Austin; Curt Michael Cronister of Chicago; Timothy John Eastmond and Roger Dale Fritz of Houston; Brandon Matthew McKenna of Omaha, NE; Peter Bernard McMahon of Seattle, WA; and Phillip James Bither of Spring. Serving as ushers were Roger Pierce Rice, brother of the groom, and John Best of Houston; John Brinton Riley of Pearland; and Hiram Conan Rooks of Denton, TX.

Katherine is a graduate of Stratford High School in Houston, Texas and Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Spanish and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. She works in the Technology Equity Research group for Frost Securities in Dallas, Texas.

Patrick is a graduate of Jesuit College Preparatory in Dallas, Texas and Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska where he received a Bachelor of Science Business Administration in Accounting and was a member of Sigma Nu. He is a CPA and works for Price Waterhouse Coopers as a consultant.

The couple will reside in Dallas, following their honeymoon in Thailand.
