Erin Elizabeth Tobola and Christopher Tobin McMillin were united in marriage on Saturday, September 15, 2001 at seven o'clock in the evening at Christ Church Cathedral in Houston, Texas. The Very Reverend Joe Douglas Reynolds officiated the ceremony. Scripture readings were given by Martin Tyler Thompson and Maria Isabel Zapata. Music for the ceremony was provided by organist Bruce Power, trumpeter Tom Tillotson, and soprano Kimberly Tobola, sister of the bride. A reception followed at the Petroleum Club with music provided by The Next Level. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Gardens at Bammel Lane.
The bride is the daughter of Ms. Diane Denson Tobola and Mr. and Mrs. Logic Tobola, II. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Carl Theodore Denson, Jr. and the late Mr. Denson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Logic Tobola.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Gardner McMillin. He is the grandson of Mrs. Elbert Raymond Dever, Jr. and the late Mr. Dever and the late Mr. and Mrs. Govenor Wilton McMillin.
Miss Kimberly Lee Tobola served her sister as Maid of Honor. The bridesmaids were Miss Holly Clarinda Brothers, Mrs. Margaret Kelsey Connor, Miss Anna May Goldberg, Miss Jennifer Diane Klam, cousin of the bride, Miss Rebecca Mary McCord, and Miss Perrin Ashli Patterson.
Mr. John Todd Cater served as Best Man. The groomsmen were Mr. Jeffrey Walton Easley, Mr. Jason Douglas Klam and Mr. Josef Denson Klam, cousins of the bride, Mr. Clark Stockton Lord, Mr. Stanton Dossett McCullough, and Mr. Stephen Alan Wakefield, Jr. Serving as ushers were Mr. Jeffrey Daniel Klam, cousin of the bride, and Mr. Neeraj Shyam Hingorani.
Erin is a graduate of St. John's School and a cum laude graduate of Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. She is a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She is an Assistant Director of Development for Planned Giving at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. Toby is also a graduate of St. John's School and a magna cum laude graduate of The University of Texas at Austin Plan II Honors Program. He is currently an Investment Research Analyst with Vaughan, Nelson, Scarborough & McCullough, L.P.
Following a honeymoon in Zihuatanejo, Mexico, Erin and Toby will reside in Houston.
