Miss Susan Anne Fertitta and Mr. Andrew Hinebauch Slocum were united in marriage on Saturday, September 8, 2001, at seven-thirty in the evening at St. Anne Catholic Church in Beaumont, Texas. Father Joachim Culotta, O.P., officiated at the double-ring ceremony. Scripture readings were given by Dr. Lindsey Dufour Harris of Houston, Texas, and Leslie Johns Liedtke of Midland, Texas. Music was provided by Denise Truncale, organist, Michael Westbrook, trumpeter, and a string quartet featuring Roma Richey, Ellen Rienstra, Jayne Todd and Michael Truncale. Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a reception at the Beaumont Country Club, with music by Doppelganger. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Art Museum of Southeast Texas.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Anthony Fertitta of Beaumont. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Paul Nobles of Dallas, Texas, and Mrs. Joe T. Fertitta of Beaumont, and the late Mr. Fertitta.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Sigman Slocum of Houston, Texas. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Edgar Hinebauch of Venice, Florida, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Fonda Slocum of Aurora, New York.
Serving as matron of honor was Becca Hoffer Siegel of Austin, Texas. Bridesmaids were Julie Mary Anderson, Stacie McCarroll Anderson, Amy Elizabeth Koy, and Louise Winters Yows, all of Houston, Grace Schrader Elmore of Beaumont, Lauren Beth Hoffer of Washington, D.C., Priscilla Slocum Lacy, sister of the groom, of Louisville, Colorado, Amy Sokol Slocum, sister-in-law of the groom, of Richmond, Virginia, and Stephanie Egmon Trotter of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The flower girl was Megan Slocum Lacy, niece of the groom. Honor attendants were Anna Cordts Edwardson and Christi Ware Lawdermilk, both of Beaumont, Phoebe Elizabeth Fleming of Austin, Texas, Kerri Matthews Gale of Dallas, Texas, and Blake Childress Kunetka of Houston.
The best man was David Arthur Slocum, brother of the groom, of Richmond, Virginia. Groomsmen were Michael David Fertitta, brother of the bride, of Beaumont, Oliver Gregory Guinness of San Francisco, California, Jonathan Lewis Kuhman of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Michael Carleton McHenry of Newport Beach, California, Matthew Monroe Snider of Fort Collins, Colorado, Andrew James Stewart of Denver, Colorado, and Leland Tyler Hearon, William Bryan Kimzey and Jason Mills Underwood, all of New York, New York. The ring-bearer was John Andrew Lacy, III, nephew of the groom. Matthew Scott Dickson, cousin of the bride, served as junior usher.
Susan is a graduate of Monsignor Kelly High School in Beaumont, and the University of Texas at Austin, where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She graduated from South Texas College of Law, and is an associate with the firm of Hayes, McConn, Rice and Pickering in Houston.
Andrew is a graduate of Memorial High School in Houston, and Cornell University, where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He is currently Director of Risk Management at Calpine Energy Services in Houston.
Following a honeymoon trip to Italy, Susan and Andrew will reside in Houston.
