Miss Stephanie Moore Bardwell and Mr. Brian Christopher Sauer were united in marriage on Saturday, May 26, 2001 at half past seven o'clock in the evening at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Houston. The candlelight double ring ceremony was performed by Dr. James Wendell Moore and assisted by Reverend Joseph Doyle. Miss Mary Joslyn Welch provided the Scripture reading. Music was provided by organist, Rob Landes, and Accent Chamber Music. A reception followed at La Colombe d'Or with music by Grady Gaines and the Texas Upsetters. One the eve of the wedding a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents at River Oaks Country Club.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Wayne Bardwell of Houston, and the granddaughter of Mrs. Jack Bruce Blanks and the late Mr. Blanks of Bastrop, Louisiana and Mrs. Clyde Matthew Bardwell and the late Mr. Bardwell of Pineville, Louisiana. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hanrahan Sauer of Houston and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Francis Green of Houston and the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Adolph Sauer of Houston.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore an elegant gown of ivory silk-faced satin by Amsale of New York. The a-line strapless gown featured a band of intricate beading and embroidery across the top of the bodice. Covered bridal buttons graced the back bodice and the skirt fell into a chapel length train completed with the addition of veils of soft illusion. She carried a European hand held bouquet of Sahara roses in a Biedermeier fashion. The bridesmaids wore two piece full length gowns in rose chiffon.
Serving as the bride's maid of honor was her sister, Miss Shannon Walcott Bardwell of Los Angeles, California. The bridesmaids were Miss Leslie Maureen Cannon, Miss Kelley Elaine Meagher, Miss Ashley Nicole Morgan, Miss Shannon Lynn Taliaferro, and Mrs. Elizabeth Tottenham Walton, all of Houston; Mrs. Melanie Wilson Bates of Denver Colorado; Miss Gretchen Elizabeth Ferguson and Miss Sara Elizabeth Sharkey of Austin; Miss Amberly Eden Kennedy of New York, New York; Miss Margaret Shelby Newton of Dallas; and Miss Mary Ellen Wright of Washington, D.C.
The flower girls were Miss Rachel Walcott Blanks of Atlanta, Georgia, cousin of the bride, and Miss Hayley Patricia Sauer of Houston, niece and Goddaughter of the groom.
Serving as the groom's best man was his brother, Mr. Ralph Hanrahan Sauer, Jr. of Houston. The groomsmen were Mr. Jackson James Fluor, Mr. Thomas David Hedrick, Mr. Eric Clay Houston, Mr. Stephen Anthony Sauer, brother of the groom, Mr. Jonah Daniel Sulak, Mr. John Frank Vallone, and Mr. Brian Rolan Welch, brother-in-law of the groom, all of Houston; Mr. Garth Charles Bates III of Denver, Colorado; Mr. Scott Hamilton Hanks of Seattle, Washington; Mr. Robby Lee Nussbaum of San Antonio; and Mr. Shawn Thomas Walsh of New York, New York.

The bride is graduate of Lamar High School in Houston, Texas and the University of Texas at Austin were she received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance. She is a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority and is an Associate at JPMorgan Chase & Company in the Real Estate Advisory Group.
The groom graduated from St. Thomas High School in Houston and Texas Tech University in Lubbock where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing. He is a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and is an Investment Executive at Dain Rauscher.
Following a honeymoon in Maui, Hawaii, Stephanie and Brian will reside in Houston.
