Miss AmberElaine Manley and Mr. Troy Lason Hodges were united in marriage on Saturday, May 19, 2001 at a quarter past 7 o'clock in the evening at the A. D. Bruce Religion Center at the University of Houston. The candlelight double ring ceremony was officiated by Minister Terry Webber Rodriguez. A reception followed at the University of Houston Hilton in the Shamrock Ballroom. On the eve of the wedding the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Spaghetti Warehouse Downtown.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Manley of Rosenberg, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willie Prazak, Jr. of Wharton, Texas and Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Murray of Klamath Falls, Oregon. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Emera Hodges of Baytown, Texas. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Doskocil of Highlands, Texas and Mrs. Francis Hodges and the late Mr. T. C. "Jimmy" Hodges of Baytown, Texas.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a matte satin two-piece corset gown designed by Maggie Sottero. The gown featured a strapless bodice, which was richly embellished with Swarovski crystals and pearls and the double box pleated skirt fell to a chapel length train. To further complement her gown, the bride wore a crown embellished with Swarovski crystals and a cathedral length veil. She carried a cascading bouquet of vendalia roses, bridal pink spray roses, pink oriental lilies, white freesia, and Queen Anne Lace created for her by the groom's mother. The bride's attendants wore two-piece gowns with apron back less tops and A-line, floor length skirts fashioned from silver iridescent taffeta and carried hand tied bouquets of pink tulips, pink spray roses, pink gerbera daisies, oriental lilies and Queen Anne Lace.
Miss Erin Kay Daniel of Houston, Texas served her friend as Maid of Honor. The bridesmaids were Miss Tamara Manley of Rosenberg, Texas, sister of the bride and Miss Rheannon Heinbuch of Houston, Texas. Serving in the brides house party were Miss Cheryl Goodgame and Miss Kristy Heinbuch, both of Houston.
Mr. Jason Eugene Hodges of Baytown, Texas served his brother as Best Man. The groomsmen were Mr. Steven Barnhill, Jr. of Baytown, Texas and Mr. Willie Pitts of Rosenberg, Texas, brother of the bride. Serving the groom as Ushers were Mr. Anthony Baca of Needville, Texas, brother of the bride, Mr. Brad Morton of College Station, Texas, cousin of the groom and Mr. John Reyna of Rosenberg, Texas.
The bride is a graduate of Westbury Senior High School in Houston, Texas. She is currently attending college pursuing a degree in Engineering. The groom is a graduate of Deer Park High School in Deer Park, Texas. He attended the University of Houston where he received a degree in History and will begin a career with the United States Army as an officer, following the wedding.
Following a honeymoon in Acapulco, Mexico the couple will reside in Houston, Texas.
