Miss Katherine Elaine Weaver and Mr. David Edwin Andrew were united in marriage on Saturday, March 31, 2001 at eight o'clock in the evening at Second Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. The candlelight double ring ceremony was performed by Reverend Douglas Elliott Page, with music provided by vocalists Miss Eva Walters and Mr. Scott Belin; organist, Ms. Carol McCutchon; trumpeter, Mr. Vaughan Pederson; and the Encore Strings. A reception followed at the Houston Country Club, with music by Shao'n and the Girls With Success. On the eve of the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents at Grappino di Nino.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Timothy Weaver of Houston, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Marvin Robinson of Houston, and Mr. and Mrs. James Carroll Weaver of Sinton, Texas. The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. John Gray Andrew of Friendswood, Texas and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Edwin Kachel of Clear Lake, Texas, and the late Mr. John Lee Andrew and the late Mrs. Leah Andrew Helvey.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an elegant gown of candlelight silk organza designed by Vera Wang of New York that was complimented with an elegant veil of soft silk illusion. She carried a classic garden bouquet of cream, ivory and blush roses, and sweet peas along with her mother's antique lace handkerchief and the groom's paternal grandmother's lace handkerchief that they carried on their wedding day.
The bridesmaids wore two piece formal gowns of delicate lavender taffeta also designed by Vera Wang. They each carried a garden bouquet of roses, sweet peas, ranunculus and tulips tied together with matching French ribbon.
Serving as the bride's maid of honor was her sister, Miss Natalie Anne Weaver of Houston. The bridesmaids were Miss Emily Claire Brock of Atlanta, Georgia; Miss Melanie Elizabeth Heinrich of Austin, Texas; Miss Bridget Alexis Kenworthy of Louisville, Colorado; Mrs. Barbara Holloway Nowotny of Denver, Colorado; Miss Laurie Lea Prados of Dallas, Texas; Miss Laura Janice Sperry and Miss Laura Hall Timanus both of Houston.
Serving as the groom's best man was Mr. Kyle Christopher Herbert of Friendswood, Texas. The groomsmen were Mr. James Thomas Bies, Jr. of San Francisco, California; Mr. Randle Clint Bollinger of Dallas, Texas; Mr. Stephen Maxwell Everett of Washington, D.C.; Mr. Andrew Timothy Gray, brother of the groom of Los Angeles, California; Mr. Andrew Christopher Roeser of Houston; Mr. Phillip Morgan Stork of Dallas, Texas; and Mr. James Wesley Weaver, brother of the bride of Austin.
Serving in the bride's house party were Miss Kathryn Elizabeth Field, Miss Allison Lee Hazlewood, Miss Margaret Harriet Munson, Miss Carly Ann Norris all of Austin, Texas; Mrs. Ellen Engstrom Porter of San Antonio, Texas; and Miss Alice Elizabeth Wagner, of South Bend, Indiana, Miss Marian Grace Wagner of Spring, Texas, Miss Kaycee Leigh Weaver of Bastrop, Texas and Miss Laynie Dianne Weaver of Vail, Colorado all cousins of the bride.
Serving the groom as ushers were Mr. James Aaron Beaver and Mr. Dennis Alan Roeser both of Austin, Texas and Mr. William Robinson Wagner, cousin of the bride of Spring, Texas.
The bride graduated from Second Baptist High School and the University of Texas at Austin where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations. She is a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority and is currently employed by UBS Warburg in Dallas, Texas.
The groom graduated from Friendswood High School and the University of Texas at Austin where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Finance. He is currently employed by Merrill Lynch in Dallas, Texas.
Following a honeymoon to San Francisco and Carmel, Katherine and David will reside in Dallas, Texas.
