Miss Elizabeth Anne Monzingo and Mr. Gary Wayne Bezemek were united in marriage on Saturday, March 17, 2001 at five o'clock in the afternoon at Westminster United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. The double-ring ceremony was performed by Reverend Garry Masterson. Scripture reading was given by Mr. Matthew Monzingo, brother of the bride. A reception followed at The Junior League of Houston with music provided by Night Magic. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Westcreek Clubhouse.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cloy Denson Monzingo of Houston. The groom is the son of LTC (ret.) and Mrs. Ludwig Albert Bezemek of El Paso.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown created by Eve of Milady of New York.
Mrs. Laura Grinstead of Houston served as the Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Zulphia Monzingo, Mrs. Sandy Gerber, Mrs. Donna Furrh, and Miss Kathleen Dunigan. Serving in the house party were Mrs. Katherine Kurima and Miss Laura Haslam. Flower girls were Meagan Monzingo and Clara Bezemek.
Mr. Michael Bezemek of El Paso, brother of the groom, served as Best Man. The groomsmen included Mr. Matthew Monzingo, Mr. Kenneth Grajek, Mr. Bret Nelson, and Mr. Scott Cummings. The ushers were CPT Scott Gerber and Mr. Fernando Salazar.
The bride is a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Houston. She received a B.B.A. degree in Marketing from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. She is a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority and The Junior League of Houston. She is currently employed with GlaxoSmithKline as a pharmaceutical sales representative.
The groom is a graduate of Eastwood High School in El Paso. He received a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Science degree from Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. He is currently employed as a project manager with Klotz Associates, Inc.
Following a honeymoon cruise to the Caribbean, the couple will reside in Houston.
