Miss Belinda Margaret Watt and Michael Joseph O'Keefe were united in marriage on August 5, 2000 at five o'clock in the evening at Saint Andrews by-the-Sea in Rye, New Hampshire. Following the ceremony a reception was held at Wentworth by-the-Sea Country Club, Rye, NH in a tent overlooking Portsmouth's outer harbor and the Atlantic. Music by Truffle, a local band, friends of the groom. On the eve of the wedding the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner: a traditional New England lobster boil/clambake in coastal Maine.
The bride is the daughter of Ms. Clare Lighton of Kingwood, Texas and Mr. Brian Watt of Great Falls, Virginia.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph O'Keefe of Hampton, New Hampshire.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a silk organza trimmed with silk satin, custom design by Robert Legere. The bride's attendants wore gowns of blue silk organza by Eileen Fisher.
Serving as Matron of Honor was Caroline Waggoner, sister of the bride of Cleburne, Texas. Bridesmaids were Kate-Lyn O'Keefe, sister of the groom of Claryville, New York and Jill Lewis friend of couple of Seattle Washington. The flower girl was Casey Waggoner, niece of the bride. Ring bearer was Matthew Waggoner, nephew of the bride.
Serving their brother as best men were Sean O'Keefe of Amesury, Massachusetts and Patrick O'Keefe of Hampton, New Hampshire. Groomsman was Trevor Watt, brother of the bride of Austin, Texas. Ushers were Neil Marttilla, friend of the groom of Nantucket, Massachusetts and Davis Randall, friend of the groom of Eugene, Oregon.
The bride attended Kingwood High School in Kingwood, Texas, 1986 and graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Architecture, 1993. She has a Master of Architecture from Syracuse University, 1996. She is currently an Architect with Leers Weinzapfel in Boston, Massachusetts.
The groom attended Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Architecture 1990, and a Master of Architecture, 1996. Mr. O'Keefe is currently a Project Architect at Michael Dennis and Associates in Boston, Massahusetts.
The couple honeymooned in Corsica and will reside in Cambridge, Massachusettes where they are starting their own architectural practice.
