Dr. Laura Michele Spencer and Mr. Damian Edward LaCroix were united in marriage on Saturday, March 10, 2001 at noon at Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral Church. The candlelight, double ring ceremony was performed by Father Rawlin B. Enette, with music by organist David Llewellyn. A reception and luncheon dance followed at the Westin Galleria Hotel, Monarch Ballroom. On the eve of the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's mother at Saint Peter Claver Catholic Church reception hall. Bridal showers were hosted by Mrs. Barbara Moss, Mrs. Phyliss Moss and Mrs. Renetta Moss of Houston and Dr. Demetra Jones-Dorsey of Dallas, Texas.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Spencer of Houston. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Marjorie Fontenette and the late Mr. Charles Little of Jeanerette, Louisiana and the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie Spencer of Brenham, Texas. The groom is the son of Ms. Faye Bush LaCroix and the brother of the late Miss Kristy Jewel LaCroix of Houston. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Bush of Port Arthur, Texas.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an elegant satin gown designed by Forsythe for Scaasi of New York.
Miss Cheri Little of Lafayette, Louisiana, served as the Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were Miss LaShanna Brown of Jeanerette, Louisiana, Dr. Bina Park of New York, New York, Ms. Letitia Simon of Los Angeles, California and Miss Amina Lockett of Houston. The flower girl was Paige Breaux. Miss Sonja Simon, Miss Rashanna Moss, Miss Autumn Nicole Johnson, Miss Ceyon Fontenette and Miss Courtnie Little served as hostesses. Coordinating the wedding and reception were Professor William A. Barks-Dale and Mrs. Renetta Moss.
Serving as Best Men were Mr. Christopher Bush and Mr. Kyle Hicks of Missouri City, Texas. The groomsmen were Mr. Juan F. Gonzalez and Mr. James N. Zoys, of Dallas, Texas and Mr. Shawn Spencer and Mr. Ramon Moss, of Houston. The ring bearers were Justin and Blake Moss. Ushers were Mr. Andrew Brown, Jr., Mr. Jarrad Bush and Mr. Charles little, III.
The bride is a graduate of the High School for Heath Professions. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Texas Southern University in Houston, a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas and an Advanced Education in General Dentistry from Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. She is currently employed as a General Dentist at T.S.C. Dental Associates.
The groom is a graduate of Westbury High School. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from Texas A&M; University in College Station, Texas and a Juris Doctor degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law in Dallas, Texas. He is currently in the law firm of Cain, Worrell and LaCroix.
Following a honeymoon to St. Kitts, the couple will reside in Houston. Laura and Damian would like to thank their family and friends for their love and support.
