Joe and Terry Barnes of Palmyra have announced the engagement of their daughter, Lisa Barnes, to Dustin Hirner. He is the son of Chuck and Joyce Hirner of New London.

The prospective bride is a 1998 graduate of Palmyra High School and is a senior majoring in education at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is employed part-time at Sherwin-Williams in Columbia.

The prospective bridegroom is a 1999 graduate of Mark Twain High School in Center. He is a junior majoring in accounting at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He is employed part-time at O'Reilly's Auto Parts in Columbia.

The wedding is planned for July 26, 2003, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Palmyra.
