Jennifer Marie Dinkins and John Robert Hamer II were united in marriage on Saturday, February 10, 2001, at half past seven o'clock in the evening at Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Spring, Texas. Deacon Pat Camerino officiated the candlelight ceremony. Music for the ceremony was performed by organist Carol Wilson, trumpeter Theresa Hanesbury, and vocalists Mary Franke, Johanna Monachino and Jodie Monachino. Readings for the ceremony were performed by Sandy Monachino and Lina Schmidt. Dinner and dancing followed at Northgate Country Club. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's family hosted a rehearsal dinner at Pappadeaux's.
The bride is the daughter of Joan and Jerry T. Dinkins, Sr. of Spring, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Harry R. Leicht, Jr. and the late Marie S. Leicht and the late Jack and Hilda Dinkins, all of Beaumont, Texas.
The groom is the son of Geraldine Sprys and the late James Michael Sprys of Bay City, Texas. He is the grandson of the late Jerome and Angela Gutta of Albany, New York and the late John and Geraldine Sprys of Redford, Michigan.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown with a white silk satin bodice and silk gazar skirt with a chapel train adorned by Alencon lace designed by Amsale of New York. Miss Julie Ann Dinkins served her sister as Maid of Honor and Mrs. Donica Rose Nowotny served as Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids included Miss Leigh Arnemann and Miss Cindy Alice Dinkins. The flower girl was Miss Kaitlyn Erwin.
Serving their brother jointly as best man were Mr. James Christopher Sprys and Mr. Michael Jerome Sprys. Groomsmen included Mr. Jerry T. Dinkins, Jr. and Mr. Andy Rivero. Ushers were Mr. Canon McClune, Mr. Russell Krenek and Mr. Chris Townsend. Ring Bearers were Mr. Shawn Erwin and Mr. Andrew Erwin.
The bride is a graduate of Klein High School and Texas Tech University. She received her Juris Doctorate with honors from South Texas College of Law and is currently an Associate in the Business and International section of Vinson & Elkins, L.L.P.
The groom is a graduate of Bay City High School in Bay City, Texas. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelors degree in Management Information Systems. He is currently a Technical Project Manager in the international division of Cerner Corporation, a healthcare software company.
Following a honeymoon to Hawaii, the couple will reside in Houston.
