Miss Amy Lynn Robinson and Mr. Reza Kaleel were united in marriage on Saturday, March 10, 2001, at half past seven o'clock in the evening in a candlelight ceremony at the University of Houston chapel. Minister Lynn Turner officiated the double ring ceremony. Organ music was provided by Ms. Pat Simon of the University of Houston. Readings were given by Mrs. Dorian Speed and Doctor Reza Mansoor. Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance was held at the Warwick Hotel. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Carmelo's. Earlier the same day, the mother of the bride hosted a bridesmaids' luncheon at The River Cafe.
The bride is the daughter of Ms. Linda Robinson-Bosshamer and Mr. Thomas Edward Alvarez of Houston. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Aslam Kaleel of Houston.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an Elizabethan style ivory silk brocade ball gown designed by Anu Pam. The strapless bodice and accompanying bolero jacket were accented by hand embroidered silver florets.
Ms. Nancy Adams of Honolulu, Hawaii served as Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids included Ms. Shirin Kaleel, sister of the groom, of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Amy Woodruff of Austin, Texas, and Ms. Gena Murphy and Mrs. Misti Halastaras of Houston. Mrs. Amy Murphy of Houston served in the House Party. Serving as flower girl was Miss Hanna Jacole Staples, and the ringbearer was Master Justin Wayne Staples, cousins of the bride. Master Jacob Lynn Weathers, cousin of the bride, greeted guests and distributed programs at the ceremony.
Mr. Anil Narayan of San Antonio, Texas served as Best Man. Groomsmen included Mr. Patrick J. Hurley of San Antonio, Texas, Mr. Trent Gordon of Chicago, Illinois, Mr. Daniel S. Wright of Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. Robert Nederhorst of Los Angeles, California, Dr. Troy Avendanio of Dallas, Texas, and Mr. Dominique DePryck of Marino, Italy.
Amy is a graduate of Jersey Village High School in Houston and a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She currently teaches English and Spanish at Central Catholic High School in San Antonio, Texas.
Reza graduated from Stratford High School in Houston and Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas where he received his Masters in Health Care Administration. He is currently a Strategic Planning Analyst with University Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.
Following a honeymoon trip to Vancouver, British Columbia, the couple will make their home in San Antonio.
