Miss Colby Elizabeth Kerr and Mr. Jeremy Leon Doyle were united in marriage on Saturday, March 10, 2001 at seven o'clock in the evening at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church in Houston, Texas. The ceremony was performed by Dr. David Peterson and Father John Beal, Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C., cousin of the groom. Music was provided by soloist Carrie Doyle, sister-in-law of the groom, scripture readings were given by Margaret Doyle and Susan Doyle, sisters of the groom. A buffet dinner dance followed at The Houstonian. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's family hosted a rehearsal dinner at Las Alamedas.
Miss Kerr, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Milton Kerr, Jr., of Houston, and the granddaughter of Mrs. Donald M. Kerr, and the late Mr. Kerr, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Doyle E. Perkinson, all of Kilgore, Texas.
The groom is the son of Mrs. Vincent Joseph Doyle of McLean, VA, and the late Mr. Doyle. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leon Joseph McNierney of Titusville, PA, and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Bernard Doyle of Butler Township, PA.
Darcy Dial served as Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were Diane Taaffe, Kimberly Hall, Ginda Level, Stacey Forshagen, Michelle Allen, Lisa Sigloch, Monica Moursund, Amy Sladczyk, and Christiana Weil. Members of The houseparty included Tiffany Bickley, Traci Miley, Jennifer Owens, Laura Holt, and Kimberly Montgomery.
Serving as the groom's Best Man was John Scott Black. Groomsmen included Gregory Doyle and Timothy Doyle, brothers of the groom, Kevin Boyce, Steven Boyce, Dr. Jay Lemery, Bart Banino, Dr. David Westfall, Adam Cummings, and Sam Loughlin. Serving as ushers were Dalton Kerr, brother of the bride, Alex Barlow, John Milligan, Tim Johnson, and Jeffrey Edwards.
Colby graduated from Memorial High School and The University of Texas with a BA in Elementary Education. She is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, and a provisional member of the Junior League of Houston. Colby is a kindergarten teacher at Barbara Bush Elementary.
Jeremy, a native of McLean, VA, graduated from The University of Virginia with a BA in Economics. He is a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. He received his MBA and Doctorate of Jurisprudence, with high honors, from The University of Texas School of Law. He is an associate with the law firm of Gibbs and Bruns.
Following a honeymoon to the Hawaiian Islands, the couple will reside in Houston.
