Kristy Kay Gipson and Steven Ray Parker were united in Holy Matrimony on March 10, 2001 at half past 7 o'clock in the evening at Trinity Lutheran Church in Houston, Texas. Reverend Brian R. Bestian performed the double-ring candlelight ceremony. Music for the ceremony was arranged by Mr. Dave Zeger, who was accompanied by trumpeter, Mr. Steve Wenig and soloist, Mr. Stephen Riley. A reception followed at The Junior League of Houston with music provided by Memphis Train. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Coronado Club.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Howard Gipson of Katy. She is the granddaughter of Ms. June Marie Wilder and the late Floyd Albert Guidry of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Marjorie Eleanor Gipson and the late Daniel Oscar Gipson of Conroe. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Ray Parker of Houston. He is the grandson of Mr. Raymond Franklin Bush, Jr. and the late Dorothy Elizabeth Bush, of Blackwell, Oklahoma and Ms. Violet Beatrice Parker of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and the late Raymond Cecil Parker of Belleville, Illinois.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride chose an elegant ivory silk organza gown from the LUXE collection designed by Vera Wang of New York. The bride was attended by nine maids attired in Vera Wang gowns of platinum taffeta.
The Bride's sisters, Miss Laurie Lynn Gipson and Miss Michelle Marie Gipson, served as Maids of Honor. The brides-maids included, Miss Jennifer Ann Anderson, Miss Adrienne Marie Bouchard, Miss Anna Ruth Mitchael, Miss Catherine Anne Clayton Pagel, Miss Adrienne Kathleen Stockhoff, Miss Katerine Kramer Upton and Miss Melissa Anne Waldrop. Members of the house party included, Miss Margery Knox Beery, Miss Courtney Michele Clelland, Mrs. Marcy Rinehart Crapitto, Miss Ashley Michelle Ferris, Miss Jill Catherine Gibson, Miss Laurie Brooke Ledyard, Mrs. Stephanie Royall Parker, and Miss Susan Michelle Weiser.
Serving his brother as best man was Mr. Gregory Scott Parker. Groomsmen included, Mr. Mark Erik Blubaugh, Mr. Sands Schrafft Chipman, Mr. Louis Anthony Crapitto, III, Mr. Scott Ryan Flack, Mr. David Stephen Mallia, Mr. Paul Russell Painter, and Mr. Stacy Allen Young. Ushers included Mr. Chadwick Dilworth Covey, Mr. Stanley Michael Fowler, and Mr. Peter John Hennessey IV.
Kristy graduated from Katy High School in Katy and Magna cum Laude from The University of Texas at Austin. She received a bachelor's degree in Marketing and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. Steve is a graduate of Ponca City High School in Ponca City, Oklahoma and The University of Texas at Austin, where he received a bachelor's degree in Economics. He was also a member of Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity.
Following a honeymoon in Kauai, Hawaii, the couple will reside in Houston.
