Miss Whitney Renee Rogers and Mr. Charles Douglas Ferrata, Jr. were united in marriage on Saturday, February 3, 2001, at four o'clock in the afternoon at First Presbyterian Church of Houston in Houston, Texas.
The Reverend Rich Kannwischer performed the double-ring candlelight ceremony.
Music for the ceremony was provided by an ensemble comprised of members of The Houston Grand Opera and First Presbyterian Choir. Soloists were Mrs. Melissa Givens, Mrs. Leigh Shipman, and Mr. Dan Shipman.
A reception followed at The Houston Country Club with music by Commercial Art. Heather Montgomery and Cynthia Durst hosted the Bridesmaid's brunch in the Vendom Room at the Doubletree Hotel on the morning of the wedding.
On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Bistro Vino.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Ron Rogers of The Woodlands, Texas.
She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Rogers of Dallas, Texas, and Mrs. Mildred Spain and the late Dr. Carl Spain of Abilene, Texas.
The groom is the son of Lt. Col. and Mrs. Doug Ferrata of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
He is the grandson of the late John and Elise Ferrata of Houston, Texas, and Mrs. Elena McDonald and the late Mr. Evilio McDonald of Houston, Texas.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, Whitney wore a gown designed by Vera Wang.
Fashioned in ivory silk organza, the strapless bodice fitted below the waist and featured pin-wheel bows of champagne silk satin.
The full skirt was bordered by a deep hem of the contrasting silk satin.
Miss Rachel Holman served as the maid of honor.
The Bridal Attendants included Miss Katie Cummings, Miss Allison Freeman, Miss Kristin Jump, Miss Shelley West, and Miss Jeana Utley.
The House Party included Miss Jill Ahern, Mrs. Molly Anthony, Miss Charlotte Ferrata, Miss Rachael Garza, Mrs. Amy Jackson, Miss Megan Pharis, and Miss Stacey Sabala. The flower girl was Miss Kimberly Boyd.
Mr. Nick Ferrata served his brother as Best Man.
The Groom's Attendants included Mr. Eric Chandler, Mr. Jonathan Duke, Mr. Joe Ben Garza, Mr. Fred Grant, and Mr. Gavin Rogers, brother of the bride.
Ushers were Mr. Frank Ferrata, Mr. John Ferrata IV, Mr. Nick Ferrata, Mr. Gavin Rogers, and Mr. Evans Trammell.
Whitney is a graduate of McCullough High School in The Woodlands, Texas.
She graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelors degree in Education. Presently, Whitney is a graduate student earning a Masters degree in Educational Technology and will be working toward completion of her degree through Texas A&M University.
Doug is a graduate of La Cueva High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
He graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and was a member of the Corps of Cadets.
Upon graduation he was commissioned as a lieutenant in The United States Air Force and will be stationed at Brooks Air Force Base as an Acquisitions Officer.
Following their honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, the couple will reside in San Antonio, Texas.
