PAVLOVIC - CHILES
Miss Emily Jane Pavlovic
Weds
Mr. Jerry Edmond Chiles
Miss Emily Jane Pavlovic and Mr. Jerry Edmond Chiles were united in marriage on Saturday, June 3rd, 2000 at 7:30 in the evening. Conducting the ceremony in the wildflower garden of the couple's home in Houston was Reverend Gail Lindsey Marriner of the First Unitarian Church. Guests entered the garden through four wrought iron trellises covered with wisteria, honeysuckle and roses enhanced with bouquets of gardenias, peonies and lilies creating a welcoming fragrance from the garden. WaterColours performed the music for the ceremony and reception which followed in the couple's home. On the eve of the wedding the bride and groom hosted a celebration dinner at Tony's Wine Cellar.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pavlovic of Bellaire, Texas. The groom is the son of the late Wilma K. Chiles of Houston and the late H. E. Chiles of Fort Worth.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an elegant gown designed by Tadashi. The simple ivory gown was fashioned as though it were two pieces; the lycra bodice featured a high neck and cap sleeves and flared over the waist of the satin skirt. The banded hem draped gently to the ground. The chapel-length veil, which floated in the breeze during the ceremony, was held by a woven ivory satin bandeau.
The bride wore short kid gloves, a gift from Emily's oldest sister on her wedding day thirty-five years ago and carried an elegant bouquet of white and blush peonies accented with miniature champagne roses. Ms. Teris Nolen of Seattle, Washington, Ms. Marcia Roberts of Austin, Texas, Ms. Norma Rossel of Albion, Maine, all sisters of the bride, served as attendants. Each of the attendants wore dragonfly patterned Harari gowns and carried natural willow baskets filled with flowers as if freshly picked from the bride and groom's garden. Included in their baskets were fresh honeysuckle, holly, orchids and stalks of wheat that conveyed symbolic messages from Emily to Jerry, which she presented to him during her vows. The bride's brother, Jason Pavlovic of Broomfield, Colorado, served as groomsman. Mr. Marshall Ballard III of Dallas, Texas was Best Man.
The bride is a graduate of Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York and is Vice President Administration of JEC Ventures Corporation. The groom is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and is the President of JEC Ventures Corporation, a management company principally involved in the breeding and racing of thoroughbred horses for Ironwater Farms Joint Venture.
The couple honeymooned in Hawaii and will reside in Houston.
