RAMSEY - BRINKMAN
Miss Nita Louise Ramsey
Weds
Mr. Gerald Allen Brinkman
Miss Nita Louise Ramsey and Mr. Gerald Allen Brinkman were united in marriage on Saturday, July 29, 2000, at seven o'clock in the evening at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. The Reverend William Stell, Minister of Evangelism, officiated the double ring ceremony. Music was provided by Rob Landis, organist and Leigh Shipman, soloist. Scripture readings were recited by Tina Brinkman, sister of the groom. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Houstonian.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Aurora Ramsey of Austin, Texas and the late Lewis A. Ramsey. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Brinkman of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.
Given in marriage by her mother and escorted by her brother-in-law, Stephen Moore of Dallas, Texas, the bride selected a gown of white silk-faced satin, intricately beaded Alencon lace designed by Tamara for the Marisa Collection. Worn off the shoulder, the empire bodice and short scalloped sleeves were adorned with appliques of lace. The A-line skirt, framed in back by a wide panel of exquisite lace from waist to floor, parted to allow her train to flow softly to chapel length. Designed to compliment her gown, Nita wore a silver tiara of floating flowers set in crystals and pearls designed by Regina B. Flowing. Beneath her headpiece, a bias-edged tulle veil designed by Richard Glasgow cascaded in tiers falling beyond the edge of her train. The bride carried a European Hand-Tied Bouquet in a clutch style consisting of Osiana, Sterling Silver, and Porcelana spray roses, Dendrobium and Phaleonopsis orchids tied with white silk cording. Bridesmaids wore floor-length Melissa Sweets bridesmaid separates of Abalone satin.
Mrs. Elizabeth Moore, sister of the bride of Dallas, Texas, served as Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids were Alyssa Marie Kay, niece of the bride of Austin, Texas and Susan Lesser, friend of the bride of Houston, Texas.
Mr. Brandon Wiley of Minneapolis, Minnesota, friend of the groom, served as Best Man. The groomsmen were Greg Josewski of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Tom Behnke, brother-in-law of the groom, of Waunakee, Wisconsin. Ushers were Matthew McKeon and Todd Gilcrease, both of Houston, Texas.
Nita is a graduate of Memorial High School and the University of Texas at Austin. She earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the South Texas College of Law. Gerald graduated from Sun Prairie High School and attended the University of Minnesota.
Following a honeymoon cruise in the Mediterranean, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Brinkman will reside in Houston, Texas.
