Dr. Lorna Timmreck and Dr. David McLean Smink were united in marriage Sunday, May 28, 2000 at six o'clock in the evening in The Adams Room of The Midland Hotel in downtown Chicago. Lorna is the daughter of Drs. Carol & Eric Timmreck of Houston. David is the son of Mrs. Marjorie and Dr. Robert Smink of Philadelphia. Following the ceremony a dinner reception was held in the Presidential Ballroom of The Midland Hotel. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Signature Room on the 95th floor of the John Hancock Center.
Ms. Kathryn Walton of New York City served as the bride's Maid of Honor. Serving as the groom's Best Men were his brothers, Mr. R. Daniel Smink, III of Denver and Dr. Douglas Smink of Boston. Also in the wedding party were Mrs. Amy Aadalen, Dr. Kirk Aadalen, Dr. Erich Hornbach, Dr. David Nedeff, Mr. Timothy Pohl, and Dr. Stephanie Shisler of Chicago, Dr. James Maloney of Madison, Wisconsin, Ms. Lisa Most of Philadelphia, Dr. James Neuenschwander of Granville, Ohio, Dr. Heather Schoen Payne of Milwaukee, Mr. William Railton of Hartford, Connecticut, and Mr. Kevin Timmreck and Mrs. Lou Ann Timmreck of Houston, brother and sister-in-law of the bride.
The bride is a graduate of Spring Woods Senior High School, the University of Pennsylvania, and the University of Texas Medical School in San Antonio. The groom is a graduate of Conestoga Senior High School in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, Amhert College, and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Following a honeymoon in the Loire Valley of France, Drs. Timmreck and Smink completed their residencies in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Orthopedic Surgery, respectively, at RushPresbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago, and will reside in Boston, where Dr. Timmreck will be doing a Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and Dr. Smink will be doing a Fellowship in Orthopedic Surgery Sports Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital.
