STEVENSON - WINN

Miss Christian Stevenson
Weds
Mr. Odell Bobby Winn II

Miss Christian Stevenson and Mr. Odell Bobby Winn II were united in marriage on Saturday, July 29, 2000, at five o'clock in the evening at Brentwood Baptist Church Worship Center in Houston, Texas. Dr. Joe Samuel Ratliff officiated the ceremony. Dr. Danny Kelley was the pipe organist and Ms. Anjanette Kelly was the soloist for the ceremony. A reception followed at Red Lion Hotel at the Galleria, with music provided by Conrad Johnson Octet Band and Samuel "DJ Swave" McTier.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Newelette J. Stevenson & Mr. and Mrs. Major William Stevenson, Sr. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Odell Bobby Winn.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride selected an elegant bridal gown. It was custom designed by Alex Rider of Houston. The bride's bodice was made of a sheer silk illusion contrasting the fitted straight-line peau de soir gown, accented by small Austrian crystals at the neckline and wrists. The five-foot train was also accented by Austrian crystals. The bride carried a bouquet of calla lillies surrounded by greenery tied with white silk ribbon. The veil was custom-crafted by Miss Camille Kirk as an array of Austrian crystals attached to a comb and layers of tulle.

Sinnamon E. Stevenson, sister of the bride, served as Maid of Honor. Keya Hood and Constance Young, both college friends and sorority sisters of the bride, served as Matrons of Honor. Tylisa Hill, Tasha Kelley, Pamela McCorvey, Lashawn Porter, and Barbie Winn were lovely as bridesmaids. Miss Virginia Stevens and Miss Tayelor Stevenson-Murphy were delightful as the flower girls.

The groom chose two friends to serve as Best Men, Billy and Willie Briscoe. The wedding consisted of eight handsome groomsmen: Jahmal Dokes, Brian Martin, Johnny Moss, Kenny Rocker, John Schuchman, George Sneed, Major Stevenson and Demetrius Williams.

The broombearer was Master Patrick Shelvin. The ushers were Warren Boson, Damon Garr, and Seth Howard.

Both the Bride and Groom are graduates of Jack Yates High School and Tuskegee University. Christian received her Masters of Educational Administration degree from Prairie View A&M University. Odell earned his MBA from the University of Virginia, Darden School of Business. Christian is a teacher while Odell is the managing partner of Winn Consulting Group.

After a honeymoon in Maui, Hawaii the happy couple will reside in Houston.
