Miss Courtney Leigh Faulkner and Mr. David Anthony Cernosek were united in marriage on August 5, 2000, at seven o'clock in the evening at St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Houston, Texas. The double ring ceremony was performed by Reverend Edward Stein and was witnessed by Reverend Thomas Donovan. A reception followed the ceremony at the Junior League of Houston. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center.
Courtney is the daughter of Mr. James C. Faulkner of Houston and Mr. and Mrs. William B. Allison of Houston. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Wilma Kielman Faulkner and the late Mr. C. Shults Faulkner of Houston, and Mrs. Rose Kopka East and the late Mr. George Harry East of Randolph, Massachusetts. David is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton E. Cernosek of Houston. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Anton B. Cernosek, of Galveston and the late Mr. and Mrs. B. P. Giusti of Galveston.
Miss Lauren Faulkner, sister of the bride, served as Maid of Honor. Miss Megan Allison, sister of the bride, served as Junior Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Lindsay Akin of San Francisco, Miss Meredith Beebe of Austin, Miss Erin Ellis of Houston, Miss Janelle MacDonald of Lake Charles, Miss Callie Micks of San Francisco, and Miss Leah Riley of Houston. The House Party included Miss Kathryn Shell of New Orleans and Miss Jennifer Vardeman of Austin. Miss Rachel Elledge of Little Rock, cousin of the groom, served as the flower girl.
Mr. Daniel Glover of Houston served as the groom's Best Man. Groomsmen were Mr. Aaron Cernosek of Houston, brother of the groom, Mr. Nathan Cernosek of Houston, brother of the groom, Mr. Jose Cortez of San Antonio, Mr. Jonathon English of Dallas, Mr. Patrick Layng of Ramsey, New Jersey, Mr. Jerry Perry of Austin, cousin of the groom, and Mr. Nathan Singh of Houston. Ushers were Mr. Kirk Doran of Boston, cousin of the groom, Mr. Kobi Gunther of Houston, and Mr. Brett Rose of Overland Park, Kansas, cousin of the groom. Master Matthew John East of Sudbury, Massachusetts, cousin of the bride, served as the ring bearer.
Courtney is a graduate of Bellaire High School and the University of Texas at Austin, where she was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority. She is currently employed by Shandwick International, a public relations firm. David is a graduate of Bellaire High School and Trinity University in San Antonio, where he was a member of Phi Sigma Chi Fraternity. He is currently employed by ExxonMobil as a system administrator.
Following a honeymoon to Cabo San Lucas, the couple will reside in Houston, Texas.
