Miss Carrie Elizabeth Wilson and Mr. Sean Miguel Tackett were united in marriage on Saturday, August 5, 2000 at half past five in the evening at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. Reverend Thomas Hill and Reverend Mike Myers officiated at the ceremony. Russ Clark, soloist, along with organist, Keith Ross, harpist, Leah Jorgensen, and bagpiper, Richard Kean, provided music for the ceremony. A buffet dinner and dance was held following the ceremony at the University Club, Post Oak Tower, Galleria. On Friday evening, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents at the University Club.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas L. Wilson of Houston. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. June A. Roeder of Houston and the late Mr. David H. Wilson of Jennings, Louisiana and Mrs. J. Aubrey Craton and the late Mr. J. Aubrey Craton of Minden, Louisiana.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Carmel Tackett of Sugar Land, Texas. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Akers of The Woodlands, Texas and Mr. and Mrs. Kline Stewart of Rush, Kentucky.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride chose an elegant gown made of Paloma pique designed by Paloma Blanca. The sleeveless fitted bodice with a jewel neckline featured a dropped waist accented by a pearl and crystal beaded band. Double beaded straps accented the lower back of the gown along with an Austrian crystal and pearl crowned, three tiered cathedral length veil.
Bride's attendants included Crista Martinez, Maid of Honor, Stephanie Cruz, Dana Edmiston, Kelly Kendziera, Kimberly Powell, and Jennifer Wehunt. Groom's attendants were Scott C. Tackett and Chris Pawlak, Best Men, John C. Tackett, Mark Larson, Clay Hill and Andre Zalud.
Members of the house party included Shanna Ciarella, Lucie Shipp and Randa Theis. Clint Cooper, Braxton Cooper, Blake Wilson, and David Wilson, Jr. served as ushers.
The bride is a graduate of Stratford High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Child Development from Houston Baptist University where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega. The groom, a graduate of Clements High School, received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Finance from Houston Baptist University and is currently in law school at the University of Tulsa. The couple will reside in Tulsa.
