Miss Lauren Beaty Price and Mr. Christopher Lee Perego were united in marriage on Saturday, August 5, 2000 at half past seven in the evening at Chapelwood United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. The candlelight double ring ceremony was performed by Reverend Carey Sayers, with music provided by organist, Tom Jaber, trumpeter, Jamie Kent and vocalist, Andrea Jaber. Scripture readings were given by Miss Anne Yancey and Miss Katie Beard. A dinner and dance followed the ceremony at the WestLake Club, with music by the David Caceres Band. On the eve of the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents at the new home of the bride and groom. A bridal luncheon was held on the day of the wedding at Brennan's.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Claire B. Tapscott of Houston and Mr. Mark T. Price of Wichita Falls, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Edna Nell Beaty and the late Mr. Joe Alex Beaty of Henrietta, Texas, and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas L. Price of Arlington, Texas. The groom is the son of Ms. Janis L. Perego and Mr. William L. Perego of Houston, Texas. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kmiecik, and Mr. William Perego and the late Dorothy Perego all of Houston, Texas.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride selected a strapless cafe satin gown accented with French alencon lace on the bodice. The full boxed pleat skirt extended to a chapel length train. The veil and dress were accented with pearls. Blossoms Floral Designs designed the floral decorations for the church, the bridal party, and the reception.
Miss Stephanie Davis of Houston, Texas served as Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Heather Cunningham of Houston, Texas, Miss Shannon Haddox and Miss Jaime Richman, both of Austin, Texas.
The groomsmen were Mr. Andrew Bartlett and Mr. James Kieke, both of Houston, Texas, Mr. Brandon Bibby of Bremond, Texas and Mr. Omar Curiel of Dallas, Texas.
Members of the houseparty included Miss Emily Rosencranz, Miss Sydney Rosencranz, Miss Bethany Robinson, and Miss Tam Nguyen, all of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Stephanie Williams and Mrs. Heather Curiel, both of Dallas, Texas.
Lauren is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where she received her Bachelor of Business Administration and a Masters of Professional Accounting degree with highest honors. She is a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. The bride will be employed by Ernst & Young as a tax consultant in Houston, Texas.
Chris is a graduate of Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. Chris is employed by Aim Management.
Following a trip to Maui and Oahu, Hawaii, Mr. and Mrs. Perego will reside in Houston, Texas, with their dog J.D.
