Miss Elizabeth Brents Williams and Mr. Benjamin David Allen were united in marriage on Saturday, August 12, 2000 at six thirty in the evening at the Chapel of the Sacred Heart at Duchesne Academy in Houston, Texas. The Reverend Monsignor Frank Rossi celebrated the nuptial mass. A reception following the ceremony was held at the St. Regis Hotel.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Brents Williams of Houston, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. C. E. Laborde Jr. of Rexmere, Louisiana and the late Mr. Laborde and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Frank Williams of Eatonton, Georgia.
The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Charles Marshall Allen Jr. of Gainesville, Florida. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Adrian Carr of Waltham, Massachusetts and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Marshall Allen of Cortland, New York.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, wore a white princess line duchess satin gown designed by Amsale. A specially designed headpiece accented the chapel length veil.
Miss Lane Ashley Williams, sister of the bride, served as Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Caryn Chamberlain of Dallas, Texas, Miss Diana DelGuidice of New York, New York, Mrs. Rachael Shaw Greto of Rye, New York, Miss Jenny Howell of Los Angeles, California, Mrs. Sarah Myers Lilly of Dallas, Texas, Miss Melinda Shaw of Nesconsett, New York and Miss Nicolette Wagoner of New York, New York. Miss Lauren Allen and Miss Talia Locarnini served as flower girls.
Members of the houseparty were Miss Erin Condon of Houston, Texas, Miss Valerie Laborde of New Orleans, Louisiana, Miss Erika Liliedahl of Kansas City, Missouri, Miss Kirsten Liliedahl of La Place, Louisiana, and Miss Kathleen McCabe of Washington, D.C. Miss Anne Horigan and Miss Kathleen Horigan served as greeters.
Mr. Christopher Paul Allen, brother of the groom, served as Best Man. Groomsmen were Mr. Anthony Barrett of Gainesville, Florida, Mr. Jeremy Conner of Gainesville, Florida, Mr. Brent Riley of Gainesville, Florida, Mr. David Willis of New York, New York, and Mr. Jason Williams of Greensboro, Georgia. Ushers were Mr. Joseph Bihlmier of New York, Mr. Howard Boyd of Houston, Texas and Mr. Todd Lilly of Dallas, Texas. The nuptial mass was served by Mr. Garrison Laborde of Lafayette, Louisiana, Mr. Ashton Laborde of New Orleans, Louisiana and Mr. Michael Liliedahl of La Place, Louisiana.
The bride is a graduate of Duchesne Academy and Georgetown University and is currently employed by InStyle Magazine. The groom is a graduate of the University of Florida and a recent graduate of the Owen School of Management at Vanderbilt University.
Following a honeymoon in California, the couple will reside in New York City.
