Miss Sarah Elisabeth Rives and Mr. Bryan Rowe were united in the sacrament of holy matrimony on Saturday, April 1, 2000, at half after seven o'clock in the evening at The Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church in Lexington, Kentucky. The Reverend Greg Schuler celebrated the double ring ceremony and mass. Lectors included Ben Curtis and Greg Jones of Louisville, Kentucky and Megan Biseglia of Nashville, Tennessee. The couple was presented the Lazo and Arras by the parents of the groom. Music for the ceremony was performed by Christie Warren, Tony Ralph and Debby Hayden of Lexington. A reception followed at Spindletop with music by Custom Sound. On the eve of the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents at the Lafayette Club.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Louis Rives of Lexington. She is the granddaughter of the late Louis Rives and Elisabeth Foreman Rives of Lexington and Gladys Griswold Wheat and the late Orville P. Wheat of Lexington.
The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Guillermo Rowe of Sugar Land, Texas. He is the grandson of Elvira Rios de Rowe of Mexico City and the late Guillermo Rowe Ortiz, and Leland Gant Moye of Sugar Land and the late Andrew V. Moye.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father the bride wore a gown of duchess satin and tulle. The bodice was styled with a sabrina neckline and a basque waist adorned with silver embroidery and crystals that fashioned a floral design. The ballgown tulle skirt ended with a satin ribbon. Her headpiece was a headband of matching silver embroidery and crystals with a two layer waist length encircled in satin ribbon.
Mrs. Melissa Rives Cashman, sister of the bride, of Lexington, served as Matron of Honor. Miss Emily Rives, of Lexington, served her sister as Maid of Honor. The bridesmaids included, Miss Monica Rowe, sister of the groom, of Boulder, Colorado, Miss Amy Montegut of Dallas, Texas, Miss Amy Sensel of Atlanta, Georgia, Miss Kaelin Bale of Nashville, Tennessee, Miss Lori Johnson of Dallas, Miss Betsy Crump of Mobile, Alabama, and Miss Michelle Ross of Mobile.
Mr. Jeremy Rowe of Sugar Land, Texas, served his brother as best man. Groomsmen included Mr. Louis Rives, brother of the bride, of Lexington, Mr. Colin Sweeney of Austin, Texas, Mr. John Gray Jr. of Sugar Land, Mr. Danny Llana of Dallas, Mr. Colin Merrett of Mobile, Alabama, Mr. Michael McConn of Houston, Mr. Steven Caruso of New Orleans, and Mr. Tom Crump of Mobile.
Ushers were Mr. Parrish Tatum of Mobile, Mr. Reid Gilbert of Mobile, Mr. Donald Hodges of Mobile, and Mr. Donald Joseph Connick of Jackson, Mississippi. Ringbearer was Mr. Clay Nedbal, cousin of the groom, of Spring, Texas. Flower girls were Miss Taylor Dyson of Waco, Texas and Misses Sydney Gray, Sophie Gray, and Emma Hereford of Sugar Land, all cousins of the groom, and Miss Caroline Ross of Mobile.
The bride is a graduate of Lexington Catholic High School in Lexington, and earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama. She is a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority and served as President from 1995-1996. Currently, she is employed as an accountant with Arthur Andersen in Nashville, Tennessee.
The groom is a graduate of Strake Jesuit College Preparatory in Houston, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising from Spring Hill College in Mobile. He is a member of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity. He is employed as manager of Harold's in Nashville.
Following a honeymoon in St. Thomas and the Virgin Islands, the couple are residing in Nashville.
