Miss Courtney West and Mr. Jeffery Shane Follett were united in marriage on Saturday, August 12, 2000 at half past seven o'clock in the evening at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church. Dr. David Peterson officiated the double ring ceremony. Music was provided by organist Katherine Sparks and trumpeter Dan Shipman. The soloist was David Oelfke. A reception followed the ceremony at the Crystal Ballroom at the Rice. On the eve of the wedding the groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at the Houston Racquet Club.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Alan West of Houston. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Ryland West and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wardell Leisk, all of Houston, and the late Mr. Glenn Curtiss House, Senior. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Dwight Follett, Senior of Dallas and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Martin Dewey Follett and the late Mr. and Mrs. Nat Perry Huggins of Waco.
Miss Natalie West of Houston served her sister as Maid of Honor. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Connally Gibbs Burroughs, Miss Jennifer Lynn House, Miss Margaret Carolyn Ogilvie, Miss Sharidan Michelle Smith, all of Houston, Mrs. Alison Mow Follett, Mrs. Sarah Smart Shibley, of Dallas, Mrs. Carrie Hard Kimler of Austin, and Mrs. Lisa Follett Boggess of Corpus Christi. Serving as honorary attendants were Mrs. Mina Castleman Ehrie of Austin, Miss Melissa Jane Floeter of Dallas, Mrs. Karen House Graves of Killeen, Miss Ashley Carol Stewart of Houston, and Mrs. Ellen House Wallace of College Station. Flower girls were Miss Ashton Kingsland Atkins of Dallas and Miss Meagan Elizabeth House of Chicago.
Mr. Michael Dwight Follett, Junior, of Dallas, brother of the groom, served as the Best Man. The groomsmen were Mr. Clayton Howard Boggess of Corpus Christi, Mr. Marc Ernest Eberstein of Austin, Mr. James Bourk Hoesterey, Mr. Kevin Joe Killingsworth and Mr. Jonathon Scott Moore, all of Dallas, Mr. Ianni Palandjoglou, Mr. Stephen Richard Schmidt, and Mr. James Ryan West, all of Houston. Serving as ushers were Mr. John Gregory Grimm of Dallas and Mr. Timothy Schuyler Page of Austin. Ring Bearers were Mr. Austin Clayton Boggess of Corpus Christi and Mr. Curtiss Allen House of Chicago.
Courtney is a graduate of Memorial High School and Texas Christian University where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She received her Master of Arts degree in Speech and Language Pathology from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio. She is currently a speech therapist for Richardson Independent School District. Jeff is a graduate of Richardson High School in Dallas. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Texas Christian University, where he was a member of Sigma Chi. He is currently the branch manager of Corr Tech Inc. in Dallas. Following a honeymoon trip to Maui, the Folletts will reside in Dallas.
