The island of Maui was the setting for the March 4, 1999 wedding of Rachel Bryn Crump and Erik Peter Bullard.
In a sunset ceremony on an oceanside terrace, and attended by their mothers, the couple exchanged vows in a traditional Hawaiian ceremony officiated by the Reverend Ron Winkler of Wailea.
The bride wore a Hawaiian garland on her head and carried a bouquet of orchids, plumeria, and tuberroses.
Australian customs from the groom's maternal family consisted of satin horseshoes and miniature porcelain shoes, suspended from ribbons, which were draped over the bride's arm after the ceremony, in accordance with tradition.
The ride is the daughter of Mr. Larry Crump and Mrs. Douglas Axelrod (Carolyn).
She attended Bellaire High School and is a graduate of Norwich High School, Norwich, new York, and of Texas Tech University, cum laude, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority, Golden Key and Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Societies, and Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society.
The groom is from Norwich, New York and graduated from Sherburne High School and Wyoming Technology Institute. he is the son of Margaret Kleinstuber of Norwich, New York and Mr. Peter Bullard of Midland, Michigan. He is currently employed by Sterling McCall Motors.
A reception was held in Houston at the Sugar Creek Country Club. Following a reception in New York, the couple will be at home in Cincinnati, where the bride will be enrolled in the University of Cincinnati Graduate School of Health Sciences.
