Powell - 50th
Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Carr Powell of Hannibal will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception hosted by their children from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2001, at TJ's Supper Club, Munger Lane, Hannibal.
Patricia Aileen Simms and Daniel Carr Powell were united in marriage on Aug. 17, 1951, at the First Christian Church in Hannibal.
The Rev. M. Leon Pigg officiated.
Attendants were Bill Powell and Ida Sherman Powell.
Mrs. Powell is the daughter of the late Robert Scott and Dorothy Blakesly Simms.
Mr. Powell is the son of the late Harold and Fannie Jewel Schwartz Powell.
They are the parents of four children, Dan Powell, Michael Powell and H. Scott Powell, all of Hannibal and Robin Reiter of Cody, Wyo.
They have nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Powell is retired from the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. and Mrs. Powell enjoy traveling, racing and gardening.
Friends and relatives are invited to the reception.
