Miss Joan Elisabeth Crosswell and Mr. Wayne Cornelius McCullough were united in marriage on Saturday, June 6, 1998, at half past seven o'clock in the evening at First Presbyterian Church, Houston, Texas. The ceremony was officiated by Dr. Victor D. Pentz. A reception followed at the Houston Country Club with music by the Grady Gaines Band and Sharon Montgomery with Jerry Atwood. The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner on the eve of the wedding at the River Oaks Country Club, Houston, Texas.
The bride is the daughter of Miss Joan Jacomini Crosswell, Dripping Springs, Texas, and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Markley Crosswell III, Houston, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Markley Crosswell, Jr., Houston, Texas, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Victor Virgil Jacomini, Houston, Texas. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Michael McCullough, Dallas, Texas, and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Clarence Cornelius, Fort Worth, Texas and the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul Proctor McCullough of Goldwaite, Texas.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. She chose a couture gown designed by Lazaro of New York. The sleeve bodice featured a deep vee back and front edged with white bugle beads over an intricate design of silk embroidery and irridescent beading. A skirt of full white tulle fell into a sweep train. The gown was complimented with a crystal headpiece and a detachable cathedral train in soft white illusion.
Mrs. Katherine Crosswell Butler, sister of the bride, served as Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Biedenham Adger, sister of the bride, Elizabeth Barrett Crosswell, sister-in-law of the bride, Debbie McCullough Hayhurst and Libby McCullough Hunt, sisters of the groom, Kelly Alisa Coole, Marcy Kay Davenport, Sarah Catherine Finley, Catherine Mary Gardner, Jessica Elaine Hudgins, Lesley Lipshultz Keller, Kathleen Moore Rutledge, Merritt Pappas and Stephanie Louise Shepherd. The flower girls were Jewel Osborn Crosswell, sister of the bride, and Libby and Gracie Hayhurst, nieces of the groom. The ring bearers were Ernie Hayhurst and Dallas Hunt, nephews of the groom.
Mr. Paul Michael McCullough, Jr. served his brother as Best Man. The groomsmen were H. Markley Crosswell IV, Victor Jacomini Crosswell, Peter Christian Crosswell, William Jefferson Crosswell, brothers of the bride, Searcy Malcolm Ferguson, James Michael Haggar, Todd Lewis Harbison, James Edward Herring, Robert Lewis Marshall II, Jerry Whitacker Peterman, Robert Lee Pettit, Blake Maillot Purnell, Benton Scott Rutledge, Scott Renfro Singleton, William Craig Wideman and Worthey DeArmond Wiles.

The bride is a graduate of Dripping Springs High Schools, Dripping Springs, Texas, and a graduate of the University of Texas, Austin, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She is an elementary school teacher in Carrollton, Texas. The groom is a graduate of Highland Park High School, Dallas, Texas, and a graduate of the University of Texas, Austin, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He is employed by A.G. Edwards and Sons, Inc. in Dallas, Texas. After a honeymoon cruise to St. Thomas, the couple will reside in Dallas.
