Miss Julie Ann Schwarz and Mr. Matthew John Crawford were united in holy matrimony on Saturday, June 13, 1998, at eight o'clock in the evening at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Houston, Texas. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Reverend Father Stephen Cooley. A buffet dinner and dance followed the ceremony at Houston Country Club with music by Commercial Art. A rehearsal dinner was hosted the eve of the wedding by the groom's parents at Grappino di Nino.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Norman Schwarz, Jr. of Houston. She is the granddaughter of the late General and Mrs. Vincent Chido and Mr. Charles Norman Schwarz, Sr. and the late Rebecca Fisher Schwarz, all of Houston.
The groom is the son of Mrs. Margaret Pritchard of Houston and Mr. Robert Crawford, III of Michigan. He is the grandson of the late Arieus and Delphine Croteau and Julia and Robert Crawford of Michigan. Given in marriage by her family and escorted by her father, the bride wore an elegant ivory silk cibeline gown designed by Christian LaCroix. The organza bell sleeves were appliqued with French Alencon lace. To compliment the simple elegance of the gown, the bride wore an elaborately decorated French Alencon lace mantilla which flowed beyond the length of the dress's train.
Miss Kendal Quinn served as maid of honor and the bridesmaids were Mrs. Sandra Infante, Mrs. Camela Moise, and Mrs. Rhonda Schwarz. The flower girl was Kaitlin Schwarz and ring bearers were John Schwarz III and Marshall Cornett, niece and nephews of the bride. Mark Crawford served as best man and the groomsmen were Todd Martin, Charles Schwarz, and Robert Wright.
The bride is a graduate of Texas Tech University and is currently working on her Doctorate in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and is a Management Consultant for Batrus Hollweg, Ph.D.s, Inc. in Dallas. The groom is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. He is currently a medical student at the University of North Texas Health Science Center where he is concurrently working on his Doctorate in Biomedical Sciences and Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine.
Following the wedding, the couple will reside in Dallas and will take a delayed honeymoon to Africa in September.
