Miss Holly Diane Crisp became the bride of Mr. Gregory James Han on Saturday, May 23, 1998 at six thirty in the evening in Appleton Chapel. The Memorial Church at Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Crisp of Montgomery, Texas and the granddaughter of Mrs. V. L. Peeples of Lubbock, Texas and the late Mr. Peeples and of Mrs. Clyde Crisp of Vernon, Texas and the late Mr. Crisp. Holly is the great-granddaughter of Mr. Jesse Ray Robison of Lubbock, Texas and the late Mrs. Robison. The groom is the son of Mrs. Julia Ashbeck of Wausau, Wisconsin and of Dr. Paul Han of Napa California and the grandson of Dr. and Mrs. William Thompson of Champaign, Illinois and of Mr. and Mrs. Loong Hai Han of Laguna Hills, California. The Reverend Richard E. Spalding performed the ceremony which included a combined offering of ^"The King of Love My Shepherd Is" by Gregory Han. the groom, Dr. Eugene C. McAfee and The Reverend Spalding. Following the ceremony, Holly and Gregory were honored at a reception at the Fogg Art Museum, Harvard University.
For her wedding, Holly selected a gown fashioned of pale ivory French Alencon lace and peau d'ange. The scalloped portrait neckline of the gown was lavished with the lace design which also formed the brief cap sleeves. From the empire bodice, the flared skirt of the gown was encircled by the delicate lace motif and detailed by bridal pearls. Clusters of fresh Safari and white roses and white orchids held the bride's veil of ivory illusion. To complete her attire, Holly carried a bouquet of Sahara roses, burgundy Calla lillies, bridal white roses and miniature green dendrobium orchids.
Heather Crisp Dent of Nashville, Tennessee, sister of the bride served as Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids included: Kit J. Nichols of Sommerville, Massachusetts and Kathryn Finnerty of New York, New York. The attendants wore matching gowns of deep burgundy crepe, overlaid by chiffon and carried bouquets of Sahara Roses and burgundy Calla lillies, and miniature dendrobium orchids. Honored friends of the bride included Kim Scates and Kerri Weichert, both of Houston.
Mr. Christopher Han of San Ramon, California served as Best Man. Groomsmen included: Dr. Eugene C. McAfee of Cambridge, Massachusetts and Mr. David Dent of Nashville, Tennessee. Readings were offered by Ms. Daryl Oakes of Boston, Massachusetts and The Reverend Sarah Birmingham Drummond of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Sexton of the ceremony was Mr. Michael Gromatski of Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Holly received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Literature from Harvard University will begin her studies at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Gregory received a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. and received a Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School at Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Following their wedding trip to Scotland, Holly and Gregory will make their home in Houston.
