Amber Leigh Bennett and Aaron Michael Shockey were united in marriage on Friday, June 5, 1998 at 7:30 pm at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church with Reverend David Carpenter officiating the double ring ceremony. Organist, Emily Borling, vocalist Kim Wetmore, and Christy deSola provided the music for the ceremony. A reception followed at Lakeside Country Club. The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents at Rio Ranch.
Amber is the daughter of R. Gerald and Sandy Bennet of Houston, and the granddaughter of Gilbert and Eula Mae Turley.
Aaron is the son of Hershel Philip and Carolyn Shockey of Norman, Oklahoma, and grandson of Mrs. H. P. Shockey.
Wearing a gown of light ivory by Christos, Miss Bennet was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. Serving as maid of honor was the bride's sister, Miss Shannon Laine Bennett. The bride's attendants were Miss Kara Packard, Miss Curtney Grosskopf, Miss Amanda Eberle, Miss Mary Cheathan, Miss Katherine Stringer, Miss Alicia Johnson, and Miss Amanda Shockey. Members of the house party were Miss Jennifer Hodges, Miss Erin Morgan, and Miss Leslie Strube with Miss Sarah Katherine Trimble as flower girl.
Serving the groom as best man was Mr. Mark Hackney, with groomsmen Mr. Brad McCollum, Mr. Andrew Gunn, Mr. Nichael Dionisio, Mr. B. J. Ray, Mr. J. D. Rhoades, Mr. Brad Goddard, and Mr. Steven Clynch. Matthew Foster served as ring bearer. Ushers were Mr. Jeffrey Moen, Mr. Todd Kahoe, Mr. Matthew Cope, Mr. Travis Beekman.
Amber is a graduate of Episcopal High School and the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Business Finance, and will attend Southern Methodist University Law School. She is a member of Tri Delta Sorority.
Aaron is a graduate of Norman High School and the University of Oklahoma with a BA in Management Information Systems. He will be a consultant for MCI Systems House. He is a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.
After a Honeymoon cruise to the Caribbean, Mr. and Mrs. Shockey will reside in Dallas.
