Marie Wittig and Don Burk were united in marriage on Saturday, June 6, 1998 at half past seven o'clock in the evening at Christ the King Catholic Church. Monsignor Donald Zimmerman officiated the ceremony. A reception followed at City Place. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's mother hosted a rehearsal dinner at Mattitos.
Marie is the daughter of Judge Don Wittig of Houston and Carol Wittig Stokely of Dallas. She is the granddaughter of Mirriam Wittig of San Antonio and the late Don Wittig and Mary Ashton of Dallas and the late Dick Ashton.
Don is the son of Patricia Burk of Hurst, Texas and the late David Burk. He is the grandson of the late Lucia and Arthur Parr and the late Velma and John David Burk.
The bride's sister, Sarah Wittig of Houston, was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Stacia Linley, Tracey Bleser, Amy Andersno, Kim Quiggle, Andrea Wren, and Jill Flood. Members of the houseparty included Shonda Fields and Wendy Smith.
The groom's high school friend, Mike Young of Dallas, was the best man. The groomsmen were Brain Weale, Jeff McCann, Dean Nelson, Todd Taylor, Brian Adams, and Mark Martin. The ushers were the bride's brother, Jeff Wittig, and Kenneth Clinton.
Marie is a graduate of Texas Tech University where she was a member of the Fashion Board. She is employed with WavePhore Newscast as a Sales/Account Manager.
Don is a graduate of Texas Tech University where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. He is employed with Ft. Worth Star Star Telegram in Sales.
Following a honeymoon to Sandus, St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Dallas, Texas.
